Report: New Hampshire fuels cigarette black market

New Hampshire has the highest rate of illegal cigarette smuggling in the nation, according to a new report by a tax watchdog. The Granite State currently charges $1.78 in cigarette excise taxes per pack, compared to $3.51 in neighboring Massachusetts and $3.08 in Vermont.

Gov. Chris Sununu is seeking authority to tap into $9.8 million to provide grants to 231 public schools and 18 private schools to pay for installing security designs, such as electronic door locks, panic buzzers, high-tech cameras and specialized glass meant to slow down an active shooter.

If you looked at the political makeup of New Hampshire yesterday and compared it to today, not a heck of a lot changed. The federal picture is the same. Democrats Maggie Hassan, Chris Pappas, and Ann Kuster are heading back to D.C. to continue damaging the state and the nation. I’m sure they’ll say Democracy was saved.
