Ericka Redic will be hosting “Crime & Punishment” — the Keep Vermont Safe workshop and panel, discussing the current state of public safety in Vermont — with a particular focus on identifying impediments around policing, prosecuting and possible legislative action.

Speakers include Michael Hall, Executive Director Vermont Police Coalition, Brady Toensing, Former Senior Counsel United States Department of Justice, and Christina Nolan, Former United States Attorney for the District of Vermont.
Redic’s personal experience of 13 years in recovery from substance abuse, started with police intervention and it fuels her passion for criminal justice reform. “If I had not been held accountable for my actions, I’m not sure I would still be alive today. I regained agency over my life and my choices and I believe it’s possible for more people to have that same experience.”
“It’s all too clear that the defund the police movement was a terrible experiment in public policy. Sadly, my Democrat opponent Becca Balint stands by this position, even with the rise in violent crime here in Vermont and around the country.”
This workshop is free and open to the public, and will be held in Contois Auditorium, Burlington City Hall, 149 Church Street, Burlington, Vermont 05401 from 6 PM to 8 PM — Friday, Sept. 9.
