Gregory Thayer: Stop the Marxists by voting — we all must vote them out

This letter is by Gregory Thayer, of Rutland.

In these closing days of the 2022 midterm elections, the Red Wave must hit as a tsunami throughout the Green Mountain State. I strongly encourage you all to vote for conservative Republicans next Tuesday. We need constitutionalists managing our federal and state governments. I’m asking you all to call 10 or 12 of your family, friends and neighbors to vote Red — and for Gerald Malloy and other conservatives.

Gregory Thayer

Gregory Thayer

Vermont’s general election day is in five days, and Vermont will change substantially if you all do not get out to vote. It will get a lot worse if you do not exercise your voice. If “We The People” do not get out to vote and exercise your constitutional governance our great little state will end up in a worse financial and social situation. It is our time, so vote!

Largely, the Democrats leftist agenda of Marxism and Big Government control with mandates are on on the ballot. We saw their work during the self imposed pandemic and shut-downs in 2020/2021.

Their assault on parental rights in the classroom with Critical Race Theory, Social Emotional Learning teachings and the indoctrination to Marxist thinking is disturbing. Many schools forget whose children these are; let me tell them, these are our children, not the government’s children.  They have parents.

The Democratic leadership is working to take control away from all of us, we must stop electing them. We know their agenda, and “We The People” must defeat them at the polls this election day. It is incumbent on us all, that we defeat their Marxist ideology.

We must start with voting NO on Prop 5 / Article 22 on the ballot next Tuesday. The language is to vague and too many people do not understand it. It does not mention abortion and it say “individuals right…” meaning any person at any age, female and male. This will lead to children doing anything to their body at any age without any parent(s) knowledge. Two points: The language in the Prop 5 question on the ballot; “personal autonomy” is so vague and undefined that it can mean anything that you want it to mean. and any individual means at any age, period, with NO parent knowledge! This is simply wrong, and un-family. Example… An 8 year old male could say he wants to become a female, the result, no one, and I mean no one including the young child’s parents can stop it. The part about “… justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means.“ What in creation does that mean? Legal scholars from across our Nation tried to explain its bad affects, but our Legislators, as usual did not listen to them.

This Article 22 amendment would enshrine this Planned Parenthood garbage in our Vermont Constitution without being truly defined and with unintended consequences that can be life altering. Abortion exist up to actual birth in Vermont, it is currently codified. This filth will grow worse like; be coming the abortion capital of America, and selling aborted baby parts, and other sick practices by this Article and these people are doing this for the almighty dollar.

There are other bills that have passed and some in the pipeline that will diminish your right as a parent and the family; like hormone blockers in children from 2nd grade and STD testing for young students.

Vermonters, if you do not understand this Prop 5 / Article 22 language, please Vote NO! We need every pro-choice supporter to Vote no on this late-term abortion, family hurting amendment! Further, I do not believe you would agree to give up your parental responsibilities as parents and guardians if you clearly understood this Proposal 5.

We need solid constitutional conservative republicans elected that will protect your financial future. We need to start by repealing the disastrous Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) and bills related to this Act; like the carbon tax, TCI, the Home Heating Standards bills to name a few. These laws will hurt working families, people will not be able to heat their homes, put gas in their vehicles or invest in their future. The democratic leadership is employing an unelected Board to set pricing and footprint plans. This is wrong that we all will lose control and watch small local fuel dealers close down. Further, the newly elected legislator’s must repeal the California Fuel Standards that the Democrats are force-feeding us all. There is a lot more to say, but trust me: Get out to vote, and vote common-sense for conservatives!

The Democrat leadership’s craziness must stop. The only way to stop them is by voting to change Montpelier. “We The People” can stop the Marxists by voting. We all must vote them out, and it starts and ends with you.

  1. I really would like to see None of the Above on ballots. when none of the above wins, we hold a new election and the none of the above losers can be on the ballot. — I honestly do not see another way to clean the crap out of government at all levels.

    • That’s called ‘ranked choice’ voting, Ed. And it only delays the inevitable, as foreseen by Benjamin Franklin.

“In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other.”

    • The only way to clean out the tenured-barnacle bureaucrats, it to sunset government programs, and cut the budgeted money to nothing.

Get the government out of Healthcare, Education and Energy/ Environment
Those three would reduce the state budget by at least $1 billion.

That would provide a great tax cut to Vermonters, such as eliminating the sales tax, and death tax, and disgraceful income taxes on social security retirement payments

  2. We can’t get them (Marxist) out of our own house for God’s sake.

You can take all the votes outside from what Zuckerman gets and it won’t add up to 50%

Any one want to wager that?

    Zuckerman gets 50+ %

Could have said nothing and been better off.
Last minute bargaining like this is detrimental for every one, and extremely ineffective, because how many will even see this? 4500? If you are going to sell your soul to the uniparty, it should at least count for something. This makes no sense on any level what so ever.

  3. When Joe was asked at a Bennington GOP his stance on abortion he was one of the first to respond and found out his pro-choice stance stuck out like a sore thumb. He told the group – even if you have to hold your nose to vote for me – please do.

Joe remainas a better choice than David Zuckerman.

Greg knows a vote for him will just split the ballot. Please don’t write him in it will in essence be a vote that will help David win.

    • And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. Luke 23:12

And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: Luke 23:18

And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. Luke 23:22

But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed. Luke 23:23

So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested. Luke 23:24

But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. Luke 23:28

For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ Luke 23:29

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34

      • Forgive them for they know not what they are doing.

We are not in control, why the good lord wants us down this path I have no idea. Sometimes failure leads to new beginnings. Sometimes failure leads to a humbling of leadership, sometimes the neck stiffens and is broken. Fighting, strife and arguing is generally a sign of pride, “I’m right”. it is a sign we are under the spirit of the loosing side.

We know our current course has failed for 22 years straight.
We know a “red meat” republican can’t win.
We know a house divided can’t win.
We know a national platform can’t win and doesn’t solve VT problems.
We know uniparty doesn’t move the ball forward.

These are things we could all agree upon 80%+
We would all rather fight and lose instead, not respecting each other enough to find the truth and a cooperative spirit.

Everyone knows this including those whom wish us harm.

      • Our course to victory or defeat was set on the initial course. The initial, planning, the vision, the money, the players all set our course for this coming vote on Tuesday.

Those whom wish to thwart the good people effort definitely know this too! This is how the uniparty, the marxist, the globalist, defeats the good people of this country, since at the very least when George Bush senior won election. Sadly I was uniformed and voted for him too. Perot in Primaries. Didn’t even know what the New World Order was all about, but I do recall him talking about it….dirt bag.

      • As a party we should ask ourselves the following.

Does it uphold the constitution? 80% buy in.
Does our plan have 80% buy in?

Going for majority rule, is a democracy, aka mob rule, something our fore fathers avoided like plague it is, why it was NEVER mentioned on our founding document anywhere, in any state.

Meanwhile 2022, and Brandon says we are about to lose our democracy in as peach to the nation, about every third word. He knows what he is saying and it’s pure evil.

    • Dear Mr. Hafner,

When we met with Greg Thayer to move forward with his write in campaign it was because we knew that not all Democrats would vote for David Zuckerman and we also knew that not all Republicans would vote for Joe Benning not only because of his support for Article 22, which supports the slaughter of the unborn, the mutilation of our children and the destruction of the family unit but because he voted for and supports the Marxist agenda of Joe Biden along with our governor, Phil Scott.

Joe Benning also denounced election fraud and did his best to destroy President Trump and the people that support him.

Joe Benning does not hesitate to call us white supremacists, insurrectionists and racists. He also helps to add to the Marxist narrative that we are DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

Greg and his supporters felt we had more to offer to the voters in the state of Vermont.

Greg is a conservative republican and offers a middle of the road approach that should be acceptable to both sides of the aisle.

We should not be forced to choose the LESSER of TWO EVILS as we have been forced to do through many of our elections.

When we discussed this with Greg Thayer, we all decided he was the best option for Vermont.

We still feel that if people would just get out and vote for Greg instead of destroying all hope for the State of Vermont, we could end up with at least one seat that would be beneficial for Vermonters.

Sadly, Greg has had many of the sell outs in the Republican party begging him to endorse Joe Benning and stop his write in campaign.

These are the same republicans who treated him like dog poop on their shoes all during the primary when they did absolutely nothing to show support for him.

We are still fighting to elect real representation to Vermont.

You can be a part of success or just continue to vote for the destruction of Vermont at the hand of people like Joe Benning whose only goal is money and power.

You get to choose your future!

    • Lyndonville, VT – July 18, 2022 – Sen. Joe Benning (R-Caledonia) wishes to go on the record today to condemn certain positions of his primary opponent. Specifically, for his involvement in the insurrection of January 6th, 2021, as well as his recent complicity with fascist iconography displayed at the July 4th celebration in Colchester.

      Joe Benning
      Joe Benning

During a recent interview with several news outlets, Mr. Thayer again defended his decision to participate in the Jan. 6th insurrection, going as far as stating that it was “just a lot of fun” for him personally. This attack on the US Capitol led to the deaths of nine individuals; four members of the crowd during the course of the insurrection, and five law enforcement officers in the ensuing days and weeks, four of whom tragically took their own lives.

More recently, VTDigger reported that Mark Coester (candidate for multiple seats) attended the Colchester 4th of July parade proudly sporting multiple symbols of fascism and white nationalism. Included in that same display were promotional materials for the Thayer campaign. Thayer, who also marched in the same parade, has refused to condemn this anti-democratic iconography used alongside his image.

Sen. Benning finds this pattern extremely troubling. There is no place for this kind of behavior in American democracy. This is not who we are; as Americans, as Vermonters, or as Republicans. Images and symbols that promote fascist ideology are entirely antithetical to what it means to be a part of a constitutional republic, and it is deeply concerning behavior from any candidate for office. On a day meant to celebrate our shared history as Americans, and our independence from an authoritarian regime, this serves only to divide and alienate huge swaths of the public. It is a disservice to the United States, and to the great State of Vermont.

Sen. Benning has prepared a statement in light of recent events. Please see his full
      comment below:

“My opponent claims he was fighting for the constitution when he went to Washington D.C. on January 6th in order to “stop the steal.” Even President Trump’s closest advisors, and daughter Ivanka, now concede there was nothing ever “stolen.” Furthermore, there is no constitutional provision that Mr. Thayer can cite justifying the ability of a sitting Vice President to pick and choose what electoral votes he or she can count. In fact, if he’d thought about it, I’m sure he’d agree that Kamala Harris would have no right to single handedly nullify the vote of the people in 2024.

Mr. Thayer’s continued insistence that January 6th was “just a lot of fun” is an abhorrent insult to those men and women in blue who suffered and died that day, performing their sworn duty to protect the very constitutional system that has made this the greatest country in the world. These comments have not occurred in a vacuum. In June, Mr. Thayer appeared at a press conference with several candidates who claimed, entirely without evidence, that the mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas and Buffalo, New York were “false flag” operations designed by the United States government. Additionally, as of this morning (July 18th), Mr. Thayer has still not corrected his illegally redacted IRS 1040 with the Vermont Secretary of State, flagrantly snubbing his nose at Vermont state election law.

Taken together, a disturbing pattern of behavior becomes apparent. I find it gravely troubling that Mr. Thayer has continued to defend the indefensible, courting those that promote conspiracy theories, fascist iconography, and white nationalism. As a Vermont Republican I do not believe these attitudes represent our party’s cherished history of respect and integrity.

Future generations of Americans will see January 6th as the low water mark of our constitutional republic – the first real threat to the peaceful transition of power in a nation built upon that principle. History will remember how we conducted ourselves in this critical time, as citizens and as candidates.”

  4. When voting, just use common sense, and Vermont values not the leftist nonsense
from the left coast, as we can all see how well they are doing !!

  5. Re: “We must start with voting NO on Prop 5 / Article 22 on the ballot next Tuesday.”

Wait a minute, Mr. Thayer. Please explain why, in virtually the same breath, you were telling TNR readers that Joe Benning, who voted for Article 22, “is a better choice’.

    Craziness, indeed.

    • Exactly!!! How is one better then another? I feel this way about the race for Governor as well! (Kevin Hoyt looks better and better)

I don’t know how I can vote for ANYONE who is in favor of prop 5. The old saying, “ well it is the lesser of two evils”, just doesn’t cut it for me on this one.

      • Me either, We have principals or we don’t. I will not vote for a supporter of either of these articles. Anyone able to support a 9 months window for the death of a healthy baby not yet born, just my burn in hell.
