Youth Opportunity Regional Forums to focus on climate and social justice

The Youth Opportunity Regional Forums begin this week, the first taking place at Oxbow High School in Bradford on this Thursday starting at 6 p.m. Organizations known to be behind politically left-wing climate and social initiatives are the primary supporters of the event.

“The ‘Vermont Youth Opportunity Initiative’ emerged through The Vermont Proposition Initiative which was coordinated by the Vermont Council on Rural Development in 2021 through input from thousands of Vermonters,” a press release states.

A Youth Opportunity Advisory Group of statewide leaders and youth members has developed a statewide engagement process which will take input from thousands of Vermonters and review the information make recommendations to the Future of Vermont Action Team.

The team is “a diverse group of 20 leaders convened and facilitated by VCRD to implement the ten elements of the Vermont Proposition,” the statement reads.

CLIMATE ACTIVISM: The Youth Opportunity Regional Forum series begins this week. It is organized largely by the Vermont Council on Rural Development, which has a history of promoting green projects to communities across the state.

The VCRD Community Engagement and Policy Director Jenna Koloski states,

“We have the opportunity in Vermont to craft a narrative of hope, aspiration, equity, and potential for all youth around the stat,” Jenna Koloski, VCRD’s community engagement and policy director, said.

“This event will kick off a series of forums to seek input from Vermonters of all walks of life to identify concrete action that we can take today to help all youth realize their vision for the future — we are excited to see the bold, actionable, and practical ideas that emerge from this conversation in the Upper Valley.”

The Vermont Proposition

The effort emerged through The Vermont Proposition Initiative, which “is a series of public policy goals concerning highly political issues such as climate and social justice.”

Of the 10 initiatives of the proposition listed, one of them is that “Vermont must combat racism, celebrate our diversity today, and welcome new Vermonters of color.”

Another aim for the group is to “advance creative solutions to climate change.” According to the press release, “producing more local energy, managing it in the smart grid, electrifying transportation and heating, advancing regenerative agriculture and forestry, innovating in recycling, and wise resource use are keys to our future.”

In 2021, John McClaughry, vice president of the Ethan Allen Institute, wrote a critique of the proposition.

“The vision’s authors celebrate our proud tradition of participatory democracy, but by page 19 they have discovered the urgent need to create unelected regional governments and an all-powerful State Planning Office that ‘would be responsible for statewide community and economic development and land use plans on a five-year planning cycle,'” McClaughry wrote.

Public forums or guided agendas?

Additional forums will be taking place across Vermont in community settings and at schools, where Vermonters of all ages are invited to attend.

Forums will be co-facilitated by youth members of the Advisory Group in partnership with Up For Learning, an organization with deep expertise in youth-adult collaboration and facilitation.

On its website, Up For Learning states “we all must play our part in uprooting and rebuilding the systems behind inequities.” It adds that the group works “to become an inclusive, anti-racist organization and community.”

Not a new trend for Vermont

A TNR report from 2021 titled “Vermont Council on Rural Development Summit on Vermont’s future features green and social justice agenda” reveals that the organization has a long history of seeking to influence Vermont policy.

  1. Take a look at the “Supporters and Collaborators” page of the Up for Learning.org. Allstate Insurance, State of Vermont Health and Education Departments, State Farm Insurance, National Life Insurance, Ben and Jerrys, VSAC, Vermont Principal’s Association, Vermont School Board Association, Community College of Vermont, University of Maine, St. Michaels, Penn State, University of New Mexico, etc. ect. What is a definition of “collaborator”: a person who cooperates traitorously with an enemy; a defector. (“he was a collaborator during the occupation”) Pay close attention to the language and word choices used as well as their symbolisms. Read the biographies of their leadership. Boycott the businesses affiliated. Taxpayer money being utilitzed. If you are not down with indoctrination camps for children – take action by slamming your wallets shut.

  2. Don’t forget!

You will own nothing and be happy!

Was this not the cry of slave masters everywhere?

  3. Since the whole gorebull warming hoax has lost traction with THINKING adults of both the Republican and Independent factions, which only have a 30+ support percent, the hoax promoters need fresh blood. Like their nazi idols they will bring the children with mush minds into to the fold via propaganda and repetitive lies until their little brown shirts are as climate confused as they are. Since the children don’t have to pay for it yet they will fall in line and accept the garbage without objection.

    • Exactly, and the National Education Association Foundation funded by NEA dues is paving the way of this indoctrination through its partnership with UNESCO and universities like Harvard. Specially, Fernando Reimers, a United Nations advocate on global citizenship. These entities collaborated to create the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals teacher workbook. This workbook includes educational content for k-12 Students. I downloaded a copy from the NEA website. The kindergarten segment focuses on starvation, asking kidergarteners questions such as , and I quote: How would you feel if you didn’t have enough food? Do you think it is fair that some people in our community do not have enough food to eat?

This is literally emotional extortion to change children into activists change agents and to create a socialist mindset in service of the United Nations. There are training segments for all 17 of the UN SDGs.

The instrunal goals include children being able to “Describe emotions and behaviors associated with hunger and develop an understanding or empathetic attitude towards those who are facing hunger.”

Vermonters here is your sign, we’re run by outside forces that don’t’ have you interest in mind.

    They OWN your children’s mind.

  5. Social Justice and Equity are United Nations agendas. Equity is the redistribution of wealth and resources to create more equal outcomes per the United Nations. Why are individual rights under attack in this country, because the United Nations stated that individual rights stand in the way of progress twords global equity and Social Justice. Social Justice is nothing more than neo-communism, which will emerge once equity is achieved. I am really disgusted that people do not understand or want to admit what is occuring in this country or the threats posed by the United Nations and their stakeholders (including the NEA) and partners. The Biden Administration is fulfilling the United Nations Agenda 2030, of which, the US is a signatory. Our children are being indoctrinated to have a specific political view, one that will serve the United Nations in achieving it’s sustainable development goals. All made possible my the NEA and NEAF, and UN organizations like UNESCO.

  6. A youth opportunity corps?…social justice, climate change…equity….race…gender..you name it, it’s all a political agenda….and It all smacks of brainwashing gullible young minds to indoctrinate said agenda. History always repeats…We’ve seen the exact same type of brainwashing in other countries setting up ‘Youth Corps”…Communist China does, Communist Russia…how about right now in North Korea…or the most virulent Youth Corps was in pre war Germany…. 1938 Berlin. What VT tries to do is just a repeat & a mirror image of them.
