Thousands of teachers are planning to gather in over 115 cities across the U.S. this weekend to protest legislation reining in Critical Race Theory.
The “Days of Action” and the “Teach Truth Pledge” event, hosted by the Zinn Education Project, will take place Aug. 27 through Aug. 29. The events across the country are advertised as raising “public awareness about the danger” of anti-CRT bills.
In at least 27 states, legislators have introduced or enacted legislation that prohibits curricula discussing racism, sexism and oppression in American history, ABC News reported.
Many of the bills would prohibit teaching that “one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex,” or that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, is inherently privileged, racist, sexist or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously,” according to ABC News.
Other bills would ban teaching that “meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist or were created by members of a particular race to oppress members of another race,” as Texas’ anti-CRT bill puts it, and that “the United States is fundamentally or irredeemably racist or sexist,” as seen in Tennessee’s bill.

“It’s really important as educators that we don’t allow these bills to put us on the defensive, and instead we use the opportunity to take these actions to highlight the racist path of our country, of our states, of our cities, that needs to be reckoned with,” Adam Sanchez, a history teacher in Philadelphia, told ABC News.
The “Pledge to Teach the Truth,” which has over 6,900 signatures, argues that anti-CRT legislation “requires teachers to lie to students” about the history of the U.S. and aims “to prohibit teachers from teaching the truth about this country” being “founded on dispossession of Native Americans, slavery, structural racism and oppression.”
Local organizers were told to host the event in a “place that symbolizes or reflects stories that would be prohibited under the proposed legislation,” according to an event sign up form. “For example, any site in Black, Latinx, Native American, Asian American history. Also, any site that addresses labor, climate justice, or LGBTQ history — or contemporary organizing — for any race/ethnicity.”
CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist and teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race.

This is our education system: Teach the white kids to hate themselves; teach the black kids to hate the white kids; teach the black kids they are inherently incompetent and inferior. Well done, lib teachers.
CRT completely reverses Dr. Martin Luther King’s message and promotes segregation and racism.
How about teaching kids what they need to know to be successful in life and leave the leftist theories for a worthless collage course… if they only got 6,900 signatures
it can’t be a very popular commie idea… School Vouchers Now is the truth.
Seems to me that there is a lot of teachers that need to be replaced.
critical race theory needs to be thrown into the trash along with these commie teachers,, There are quite a few of them right here in Vermont. They aren’t teaching school stuff, they are teaching how to be RACIST,
They don’t teach math, history, reading, spelling, or CURSIVE anymore. one of my nephews wasn’t taught anything, he couldn’t spell nor write, wasn’t good with math either. Where are the good teachers, who cared about the students, that took their job seriously? My nephew was just pushed through school, He graduated but he didn’t know anything.
If teachers can’t teach the right stuff fire their AZZ…They are wasting our children’s time !!!!
…..LET’S SEE…….um…….115 cities….so we’ll need 115 bombs……
Get your children out of these public indoctrination camps and cut their funding. Our children are some of the worst educated in the world, yet these babbling buffoons are intent on making things worse. No law will prevent them from pushing CRT, they will just disguise it. DEFUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!
You Got that RIGHT
