One of the sources I read most every day is Inside Climate News. I’m not quite sure who funds this news service, but it is all in on the terrible climate crisis just looming ahead of us, and the enormous sacrifices we must be required to make to fend it off.
Here’s an item that appeared there on April 9: “China alone has approved nearly 100 gigawatts of additional coal power plants. … Each gigawatt is the equivalent of installing more than 3 million solar panels or over 330 utility-scale wind turbines, says the U.S. Department of Energy.”
A simple calculation shows that 100 Gigawatts of electricity would require more than three hundred million solar panels, three hundred thirty million utility scale wind turbines, or a combination of the two.
From a planetary standpoint, a single one and a half gigawatt coal burning power plant with 80% capacity factor annually releases more carbon dioxide than everything in the state of Vermont transportation, heating, building, agriculture — everything.
So, our legislative leadership is going all out to drive up the price of heating fuel, as well as the price of gasoline and diesel which is coming later down the road, to reduce Vermont emissions to the point where one of those already announced Chinese coal plants can cancel out all of Vermont’s emissions in something like three months?
What do these climate geniuses think they are doing — at our expense?

China and India burn almost 5 billion metric ton of coal of the world’s total of about 8 billion metric ton.
China and India are building bigger new coal plants that are more efficient, than the retiring smaller plants, but the net effect is burning 15 to 20% more coal.
Whatever Vermont does is pure subsidy chasing by self-serving entities.
Those entities lie as if it is printed regarding CO2 reduction of EVs and heat pumps.
In Vermont, the only approach making any horse sense, is INCREASED ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF BUILDINGS AND VEHICLES.
Europe started doing this more than 30 years ago. It uses GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS, for all new buildings and retrofits, NOT USELESS AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
All the Vermont Climate Crusaders, really don’t have a clue all they know are talking
points from their financial supporters.
They want you to believe this ” little state ” can save the world, but at what cost, they
don’t care it’s all about an agenda, if these Crusaders really were concerned about the
state, country, or the entire universe they would be chasing the real polluters like China
Russia, India just to name a few………………nope Vermont will save the planet !!
These Vermont climate Crusaders, follow the same mentality and rhetoric as the BLM
supporters in Vermont, but how many really went to cities like Chicago to show support
against the daily bloodletting in that city……………. never, just look at the good we do !!!

This is about money- and it’s use to gain and retain more power over the US.

Speaking of California? Well, “climate change” changed this winter so Calif got more snow and rain than EVER recorded in all past history….CA reservoirs are nearly full now, and more snow melt on the way. I also have data for ARIZONA’s reservoirs….almost ALL of them are 95% to 100% full and they are RELEASING water downstream (fact, I have the State website), and more snow melt comes. but Lake mead is still low. ALL of this must be Exxon’s fault? If Exxon caused the CA drought, then that means Exxon also caused never seen before recorded rain and snow?. IT WAS THE PACIFIC OCEAN currents, temps, wind activity that caused it……CO2 had NOTHING to do with it 🙂
Climate Change is mother nature’s doing, 95% of it…any human caused is minimal and earth handles it. This is the biggest fraud in human history….and our climate death & extinction has been warned & predicted for almost 40 years now!
For all liars& lurkers here, you Liberal brainwashed….Here is the website to Arizona State Watershed Management….they give a DAILY measure of reservoirs here….95% to 100% FULL….and at bottom they tell you how much water they RELEASE downstream because more comes IN from snow melt and they are out of storage now. FULL RESERVOIRS. I am sure it is Exxon’s fault.

Yes Jeff the climate tards have to jump hoops to keep up with the results of their hoax. Back in the 70’s it was global cooling then moved to global warming with ice caps melting and ocean rising. Moving the goal posts again it was increase storms and hurricanes. Now i think the catastrophic events are forest fires and drought…. With the rains and snow it will have to change again to we’ll be buried in snow and rain. 53 + predictions since the 70’s of climate caused catastrophes have failed to materialize…When do the sheep finally wake up to the hoax?

Look at Calif and AZ now…flooded with water in reservoirs. Liberal mindsets will never change. Facts, evidence and honest science be damned..liberals all have this illogical “slogans” agenda mindset, all masked that they “pretend not to know things”…and thus blithely & arrogantly absolve themselves for any guilt or conscience..of the consequences they cause!
Meanwhile, Shiveluch Volcano exploded ash nearly 50,000 feet into the air. The volcano is located 1,772 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska. The ash plume is drifting into the Northwest and cancelled flights in Alaska. Other major eruptions currently: Stromboli and Etna (Italy), Popocatépetl (Mexico), Santiaguito and Fuego (Guatemala), Mayasa (Nicaragua) as well as many, many more blowing off (www.volcanodiscovery.com.) Are we about to see a summer of no summer? It is about to get much cooler around the world. Mother Nature is the great equalizer and has the final word.
It’s worth posting again what part time Vermonter (past), Davis Mamet said, when he turned from Uber Liberal to Conservative….a light went on in his head… that all he believed in (liberalism) was a lie.
