Citing a 4,000% increase over 10 years in teenage female gender dysphoria, the Burlington Republican Committee Thursday night passed a resolution that affirms the natural distinction between the sexes and opposes promotion of gender identity ideology to minors.
“Defending Civil Liberties and Safeguarding Children” was approved two days after pro-trans activists tried (unsuccessfully) on Tuesday to get Vergennes school leaders to cancel a citizen gathering to hear detransitioning expert Walt Heyer, and amid media reports of a group of Burlington Progressives organized to tear down stickers questioning gender identity ideology.
The resolution says the Burlington Republican Party:
- Opposes any city or state efforts to target and criminalize free speech on areas of public concern;
- Affirms the natural distinction between the male and female sex and honors its immutability;
- Opposes city and state funding of organizations that promote gender identity ideology to minors. At present, pro-trans Outright Vermont receives Dept. of Health funding for school education program.
- Extends support to the ever-growing detransitioner community;
- Defends the rights of human beings to occupy spaces set aside for their biological sex; and
- Will work in collaboration with disaffected Burlingtonians to stop the exploitation, sterilization, and mutilation of vulnerable children.
The resolution also singles out Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger for failing to condemn violence perpetrated by transgender activists in the city. At last year’s Pride parade, gay rights activist and trans critic Fred Sargeant was assaulted for carrying a sign.

As long as Repubs make everything about abortion they will have a losing platform.
I am on this side of this resolution but, it disturbs me deeply that for Repubs every issue circles back to abortion. If you want to win over Dems, don’t conflate the two; anti-trans is more of a winning issue than abortion.

The two parties are really just one party for 95% of the time, it’s a fake orchestrated outrage to get people mad and fearful, which is a very easy state to control people and raise money.

Notice how both sides claim a budget ot of control when they are the minority, but when majority are ok with it? And theyALWAYS end up giving themselves more money?

Hoe about the fake trials from both sides, where nobody goes to jail? Close to home is EB5, but if you or I took a candy bar from Walmart we’d be in jail. Hell, it doesn’t even activate the taxpayer security system when they scoff 250,000 dollars!
And of course ther is cOvid, mRNA, and vaccines in general, the biggest swindle and action against humanity, while we at the same time demand organic Misty knoll chicken and organic oats but demand our children be vaccinated with what 78 vaccines?
