Nearly half of likely American voters say they believe the FBI is acting as President Joe Biden’s “personal gestapo,” according to a new poll.
Americans’ approval of the FBI has declined over the past two years, with many voters believing the agency acts on behalf of Biden, according to the results of a Rasmussen Reports national survey. Just 46% of likely voters say they have a favorable impression of the FBI, down from 60% in May 2020.
Republicans were more likely to disapprove of the agency, with 57% saying they have an unfavorable opinion of the FBI while 63% of Democrats said they have a favorable impression of the agency.
Moreover, when asked whether they agreed with a statement made by Roger Stone, former political adviser to former President Donald Trump, that “there is a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI” that are acting “as Joe Biden’s personal Gestapo,” 46% of all likely voters say they agree.
Republicans were much more likely to agree with the characterization, with 64% saying the FBI acts as Biden’s “personal gestapo” compared to only 30% of Democrats.
Voters’ approval of Biden correlated strongly with approval of the FBI, with 86% of voters who “strongly approve” of Biden’s job performance having a favorable opinion of the FBI, according to the poll. Among voters who say they “strongly disapprove” of Biden’s tenure as president, just 19% say they view the FBI favorably.
The poll also found that half of all voters believe current FBI director Christopher Wray is influenced by Biden when making decisions, and only 26% believe Wray to be independent of the president’s influence.
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters from Dec. 29 to Dec. 30, and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.

The article does not give any examples of how the FBI is acting as ” Biden’s personal gestapo” which is a pretty harsh charge. Would be interested in how this is the case.
In these days when law enforcement is critized by so many and so broadly, it is important that we do not jump on the bandwagon without good reason.
It should also be noted that FBI director Christopher Wray was appointed by President Trump.
Can you say Hunter Biden?
O.K. How has the FBI under Trump appointed Director Christopher Wray acted like the Gestapo in regards to Hunter Biden?
It is also important to note that the Biden Adiministration has not shut down the Trump instigated Durham investigaitons into the 2016 election even thought it is in their power to do so.
Again, at a time when there is widespread criticism of law enforcement and those who protect and serve are often unfairly targeted by those on the left, those of us more conservative and appreciative of the difficulties of the job, should be careful not to do the same. Refering to the FBI as “Biden’s Gestapo” without evidence is just that kind of thing.
John, It’s an article about a “Poll”. You know where they ask people about their opinions.
Common man lighten up.
If it looks like a duck, etc. etc. etc.
Not so. It works the other way around. Biden is their personal President.
This is a totally corrupt organization going all the way back to J. Edgar Hoover. It should have been eliminated back then but they hold more power than the elected government by virtue of the secret information they hold over the heads so many politicians who are terrified of them. If a politician they want to control is clean, they will just manufacture evidence to threaten them with. It is not just a few bad apples at the top as you have been led to believe, “The fish rots from the top” and this fish has rotted right to its tail.
The FBI worked against Trump
The FBI works for Biden’s extreme-leftist handlers, as does the traditional Media, which has been left-leaning for decades.
