Dear 5th Grade Families and Caregivers,
It is time for our science/health unit about the human body focused on puberty and the human reproductive systems. This unit will take place during the last few months of school. We will focus on the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty and briefly introduce the basic structure and function of human reproductive systems. Students will be participating in whole group discussions and have private reflection time. There will also be three interview opportunities coming home throughout the unit.
In an effort to align our curriculum with our equity policy, teachers will be using gender inclusive language throughout this unit. With any differences, we strive to use “person-first” language as best practice. You will see examples of this below.
We will be using the following language with students:
- Person who produces sperm in place of boy, male, and assigned male at birth.
- Person who produces eggs in place of girl, female and assigned female at birth.
We are working on editing worksheets and handouts to reflect these changes but you may see some worksheets that have not changed yet.
If you are interested in seeing the materials teachers will be using, we will have a binder available in the main office for you to review.

It’s lunacy. Intersex people are the exception, in which case they generally have more of a tendency towards one gender than another, but teaching this to 10 year olds? They are KIDS. Males produce sperm. Females produce eggs. Take religion out of it completely and biology says it simply. Pure, raw, biology. If you want puppies you breed what? A female dog and a male dog. Want a baby? You need a sperm which comes from an XX chromosoned otherwise known as MALE person. And an egg that comes from an XY chromosoned otherwise known as FEMALE person.

I am sorry to state the obvious fact that we here in Vermont have a serious problem with our public school system. I find it extraordinary that principals and teachers feel that they are obligated to redefine the English language to something that they “exclusively” think is more accurate. Someone or something removed their ability to think and reason. The battle we face is indeed spiritual. The ancient pagan Babylonian gods, Ba’al, Ishtar, and Molech have returned with a vengeance. The “warning shots” to which you referred began in the 1960’s with the start of anything to do with God being removed from the public squares under the gross misinterpretation “establishment clause” of the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights and all the way to the slaughtering of the unborn and beyond.
Consider Matthew 12:43-45 where Jesus said,
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.” (ESV)
Jesus was referring to the state of Israel’s faith in this passage.
Now take the perspective that the “person” in the first verse could very well be multiple “persons” and be an entire nation or a culture.
When God was being removed from the public squares of Western civilization, that left the door open for the spirits of the pagan gods to infiltrate and exert their evil influences on the culture. Here we are! All one has to do is study what each of these pagan gods stood for and how they were worshipped in ancient Babylon to realize what is going on in our society today.
But there is hope:
2 Chronicles 7:14 contains a promise from God and He never goes back on His promises:
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (ESV)
The key word here is “humble”. We need to realize that the answer to this evil that we are experiencing is not dependent on politics or elections, but on a mighty move of the Holy Spirit of God. God Bless!

As a teacher, Ms. Jablonski has every right to choose the terminology she believes best meets the needs of her student’s curriculum – but only so long as her student’s parents have the right to choose a different teacher and a different curriculum, that they believe better serves the interest of their children.
Nothing in our Constitution prohibits stupidity. All we need is the opportunity to see what stupid really is. School Choice, the free market of ideas, solves everything. With School Choice, we’d see, sooner than later, who is stupid and who isn’t.
And before anyone jumps to conclusions – no – at first blush, I would not have Ms. Jablonski teaching my kids. If that turned out to be a stupid decision, so be it. I’d accept accountability for my choice and change course.
And, hopefully, Ms. Jablonski, those who support her, and those who choose her as a teacher, would afford others the same courtesy.

In reality, there are rare hermaphroditic birth abnormalities(intersex) which are dealt with between the medical specialist and the parents early in the life of this individual.The child is assigned a gender as boy or girl after tests (hormonal, genetic, radiological) have been done and the parents have consulted with the doctors on which gender the child is more likely to feel as she or he grows up.Surgery is done in some cases . Really, if people are offended by the words male and female, or boy and girl they need counseling not coddling. First in line should be this principal. When did changing language to appease a small percentage of the population become a thing? Is everybody happy now? This is Marxism through and through.
