Sen. Bernie Sanders called for a congressional resolution to condemn neo-Nazism and white racism, stopping short of including all types of racial discrimination on MSNBC Wednesday.
“And by the way, I think again we probably should have a resolution passed in Congress which I hope can pass unanimously condemning neo-Nazism and white racism,” Sanders said in an interview on “Andrea Mitchell Reports.”
Sanders was asked how he felt in the midst of the recent violence and said it was painful to witness the loss of innocent life, but then quickly pivoted to critique President Donald Trump.
“What is even more painful, is that we have a president of the United States who has not stood up and condemned, in no ambiguous terms, the horrors of nazism and what these people stand for,” he said. “His [Trump’s] is an ideology that is counter to everything that this country is supposed to be about. And it’s not asking very much to have a president who sees this to say, this is disgusting, this is ugly, and I condemn it.”
Sanders also expressed approval for Republicans who have come out strongly in condemning the violence by name, including House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, calling it “the right thing to do.”
“I am happy to see that we have Republican leaders, very conservatives, joining virtually all Democrats all progressives, in saying racism and white supremacy and neo-Nazism is not something that we tolerate for one second,” Sanders said.
He added the blame lies almost entirely with the alt-right claiming there is no room for equating the two dissenting factions.
“The idea that there is some equivalence, or some shared blame when you have people marching under racist banners, under neo-Nazi banners and not have a president that condemns that forthrightly, that is a very sad moment in american history,” he said.

Bernie is a demagogue. Racism works both ways. Antifa is the opposite of what it pretends to be–it is fascist.
How about a congressional resolution to investigate George Soros, the who funds outfits like BLM and antifa? His ngo’s amplify and weaponize cultural differences, and destabilize countries around the world, to the advantage of his hedgefunds and the rothschild zionists.
Erasing history by destroying monuments is what the taliban and isis do. Those monuments do not create racial hatred. If people really want to deny their opposites publicity and notoriety, they should just ignore them.
These neo-fascists are un-American. They create racism and fascism by pretending to oppose it. They are the real deplorables, though most are simply ignorant, and even mean well, but they are dupes.
The real purpose is easily seen, from what has happened elsewhere: make countries so divided and un-governable that the globalist enemies can take over and impose governments and poverty much worse than what was there already. They are a wrecking ball to civilization.
Yup Bernie ” Soapbox ” Sanders, lets get on the news ( Again ) I don’t want anyone to forgets
me.
Just in case he forgot, there where in fact, two sides that instigated the violence, both radical,
both socialist, both anti-American !!.
The racist and anti-Semitic neo-Nazis and white supremacists on one side and the radical
communist so-called (Antifa ) Anti-Fascists on the other. Each side represents a philosophy
that is vehemently dislike towards America. Shameful.
With History , we can learn form our mistakes. If those who think hiding or destroying any
remembrance of our past will fix our issues, you are fools. History will repeat itself and I think
we are headed in that direction.
President Trump was entirely correct in calling out all sides in the Charlottesville travesty. Bernie Sanders is a liar and an opportunist. He and his ilk should take ownership of a large portion of the racial and political angst that plagues our nation. The following link leads to another report that calls the situation truly.

Can we condemn BLACK RACISM , too, Bernie, or is it only white people who display that trait? How about condemning Antifa , the Black Panthers, and Black Lives Matter? Or is it OK for them to spew their hatred and kill whites and cops? And, Bernie, YOU LIE when you say that the President .”has not stood up and condemned, in no ambiguous terms, the horrors of nazism and what these people stand for”.Try listening to what he says instead of drumming up hatred for him as you plot your own bid for President. Hmmm, maybe YOUR speech should be condemned Bernie, as it is fraught with lies and hate. And you might think about your own political alliances, Bernie, as you are aligned with Venezuela and Cuba, two of the most notorious Communist regimes in the Western hemisphere. You are a fraud.
Good letter, PeteMo. If I’d read yours before writing mine, I would have considered mine unnecessary. Vermont has much to be ashamed of, not the least of which those she has voted into Congressional office. Of course, this all sprang from the draft-dodging liberals and hippies who saw the opportunities open to them in taking over a state with a small population back in the ’60’s and ’70’s.
