VT Grassroots to host ‘Empowering Parents’ symposium May 13-14

On May 13-14, VT Grassroots will host an “Empowering Parents by Exposing Marxism” symposium featuring Dr. James Lindsay and Dr. Nicholas Meriwether.

Dr. Lindsay, author of “Race Marxism,” will speak on how “We the People” can oppose critical race theory and other Marxist indoctrination in schools.

Dr. Meriwether, a professor of philosophy, ethics and religion at Shawnee State University, won a First Amendment federal case against his employer over “misgendering” a student. The university claimed the professor created a hostile environment by not using preferred pronouns, but  Meriwether stood his ground and Shawnee State ultimately paid $400,000 to settle the lawsuit.

The event includes a luncheon in Williston and also a dinner Friday, May 13 at Capitol Plaza in Montpelier.

Friday’s lunch event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ignite Church in Williston, will feature Dr. Lindsay in discussion with conservative Republican candidates Gerald Malloy, Ericka Redic, Gregory Thayer and Stephen Bellows.

Friday’s dinner event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier will feature both Dr. Lindsay and professor Meriwether.

Additional addresses and panel discussions will take place Saturday, May 14 at Ignite Church in Williston.
