Vermont expands booster shots to include Moderna and Johnson & Johnson

Montpelier, Vt. — Governor Phil Scott and the Department of Health today announced that, effective Friday, the State is expanding its Covid-19 booster shot program to include the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

In addition, starting tomorrow through pharmacies or your healthcare provider, or starting on November 1 through the state registration system, Vermonters ages 18 and older may choose a booster vaccine that is a different brand than the one they initially received. These actions follow the decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to authorize use of the three vaccines for booster doses. Pfizer boosters have been available since September 24.

“Today marks an important step forward in our efforts to end this pandemic. Vaccines and booster shots are free, safe, effective and widely available,” said Governor Scott. “The vaccines offer the best protection against this virus, and getting the booster is key to making sure you have the most protection possible. We are making doses available in many places, and I strongly encourage people to get their booster shots as soon as they can.”

Booster doses are available throughout the state, with supplies already in hand, and more are already ordered and being prepared for shipment to Vermont over the next several weeks. Booster doses of Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are the same as the primary vaccinations, but the booster amount for Moderna is a half dose.

Health Commissioner Mark Levine, MD echoed the Governor’s call for all eligible Vermonters to get vaccinated and reminded people to closely follow the prevention guidance – actions he said are essential for curbing the surge in cases due to the highly contagious Delta variant. “Being fully vaccinated, getting your booster shot, and following all the guidance to protect yourself and others, is how, together, we stop the spread of the virus,” said Dr. Levine.

Boosters are free and widely available to all Vermonters age 18 and older, based on the following eligibility:

Johnson & Johnson

  • Received your vaccine at least two months ago, and are
  • 18 or older

Moderna and Pfizer

  • Received your second dose of vaccine at least six months ago, and are either
  • 65 or older
  • 18 or older with certain medical conditions
  • 18 or older and work in a high-risk setting
  • 18 or older and are Black, Indigenous or a person of color (BIPOC), or age 18 or older and live with someone who is BIPOC

Starting at 8:00 a.m. Friday, all eligible Vermonters can visit healthvermont.gov/MyVaccine to schedule a booster shot at a nearby location. If you have not previously been vaccinated through the state registration system, need assistance, or speak a language other than English, call 855-722-7878.

  1. I for one am grateful for President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed that developed these vaccines which have provided a tool for combating this deadly virus. While in general, I am still am limiting my interactions with people for both my and their protection during this surge of the delta varient, am glad to feel safe enough to be able to be around family and grandchildren (two of whom are fully vaccinated).

Will be getting my booster shot this fall along with my flu shot. Pleased, as the over 89% of Vermonters who have had the Covid-19 vaccine, to be able to add this vaccine to the other I have taken which have help keep me heathy including: polio, tetanus, measles, shingles, whooping cough, and mumps.

  2. And I would like to add, the link below provides details on how the chinese virus is being used as the vehicle to force the Great Reset on the world.

  3. Mix or match pharmacutical chemicals from competing corporations? The chemicals of which remain a mystery except for those who have examined some of the vials and found some nasty stuff? Pharmacists who review prescriptions prescribed to make sure there are no issues with combining drugs due to toxicity or harmful side effects – they have no problem with this mix and match “vaccine” protocol without knowing what is in it? War crimes – crimes against humanity.

  4. THESE SHOT ARE IN FACT BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS USED TO KILL AND MAME HUMANS.
ANYONE THAT SAYS THEY ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE IS LYING.
SCOTT AND HIS BAND OF SOCIOPATHS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CLAIM THEY DIDNT KNOW.
    CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY!

  5. Right. Because vaccination stopped Covid in Vermont, and all we need is more of the same to really, really stop it. And we need to make sure that those young people, who have hardly any risk from Covid, are put at risk from the vaccines, whose harms the government is deliberately failing to investigate. What could possibly go wrong?

Meanwhile, it makes perfect sense to use safe, cheap repurposed drugs and vitamins/minerals as prophylactics to prevent Covid in the first place. The science is very clear on the safety and efficacy of these treatments, even though health authorities have worked extremely hard to distort the science and turn the public away from these treatments.

We constantly hear how the health authorities are following the science and following the data but by now these words are empty blather, signifying nothing. They’re doing the exact opposite of what they say they’re doing and common sense has gone out the window, replaced by strict adherence to authoritarian medicine.
