Perkinsville, VT – U.S. Senate Candidate Gerald Malloy praises the Supreme Court’s overturn of the 1973 landmark Roe v. Wade decision, which federally legalized abortion in the United States.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling is a big step in the right direction for the United States. It is a beginning, not an end. Our government was created to protect our three unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as stated by the Declaration of Independence. However, this right to life was impeded on for almost 50 years following the federal legalization of abortion” explained Malloy.

Furthermore, Malloy points out, “the right to an abortion was found not in the actual Constitution itself, but based off of a loose interpretation of it.” The 10th Amendment states that the Federal Government only has those powers which are delegated in the Constitution. “As a firm supporter of all Amendments, I must say if it wasn’t listed in the Constitution, the decision rightfully belongs to the States and People.”

With the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, they acknowledge that abortion is not a constitutionally-protected right. The issue will now be decided by the people and the elected officials in their respective states. Some state legislation will most likely ban or put heavy restrictions on abortion. Alternatively, other states will implement their own state-level court decisions or constitutional provisions protecting abortion.

  1. I totally support Mr. Malloy for the vacant Senate seat. He states the basic fact that now the individual States will decide about the abortion issue. As usual, the radical left goes into meltdown and sees ruination of the world at every common sense and Constitutional decision! Mr. Malloy has vast experience in areas that are important for a candidate to understand – that includes military and business experience. Excellent candidate!

  2. Of course, most of the moon bats, transplants, former hippies and flatlanders from liberal states now voting here in Vermont would rather have someone with a background in emotional stress management or inclusion and equity studies instead of this man’s extensive experience and background. In order to qualify to be a candidate here and to be expected to win, you have to be a woman of color, a transexual, a BIPOC, gay, a RINO, support planned parenthood or be totally uneducated in Constitutional law and have never read the Vermont Constitution. Critical thinking is not required and being totally clueless about life in Vermont is also a plus. Recently, being someone actually qualified is unheard of. Good luck Mr. Malloy, you have my vote. Now we have to convince others that Vermont is circling the drain because of the aforementioned requirement to serve in VT government.
