Vermonters for Vermont Initiative (V4V) announced today that they will host a public town hall informational on public schools teaching equity, also known as Critical Race Theory (CRT), in the the classroom. V4V is an organization started in December 2018 to educate all Vermonters on public policies coming from Montpelier and local governments.

On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., five speakers will take to the stage at St. Albans City Auditorium in downtown St. Albans for a two-hour discussion on Critical Race Theory. All of the speakers have experience with the public schools and with the introduction of CRT to our children. CRT is also being introduced in many of our public institutions and businesses. Proponents claim that it does not harm children, that CRT teaches equity and the true history of our nation. Opponents argue that CRT is destroying our children and making them think as racists, and pitting races and ethnic groups against each other.

Critical Race Theory teaches people that they are either oppressors or oppressed/victims! It has been around since the 1970s, being taught in many colleges across the nation, and now it is coming to students of all ages. CRT is a product of the writings of the communist manifesto works of Karl Marx.

Our speakers for the evening are:

  • Welcome & Comments by Gregory Thayer, “Vermonters for Vermont” Initiative
  • Linda Kirker: Former VT Legislator
  • Jay DeNault: Former MVU Schoolboard Member
  • Aaron Kindsvatter: PhD. UVM Professor
  • John Klar: VT Liberty Network
  • Ellie Martin: VT Grassroots

Speakers are allowed 12 minute speeches, and after the last speaker all of them will come to the front and answer questions from the audience. Our Townhall will conclude at 8:30 p.m.

The event will be facilitated by Gregory Thayer, “Vermonters for Vermont” Initiative.
