Last week, the House Committee on General, Housing and Military Affairs took testimony on S.40, a bill that would give Vermont a $15 minimum wage by 2024. The Joint Fiscal Office forecasts negative consequences for jobs if it passes, and wage increases would occur incrementally each year starting with $11.10 in 2019, then rising to $11.75, $12.50, $13.25, $14.10 and finally $15.00.
