Utility asks members to conserve electricity, don’t charge cars in evening

The EV-charging conservation request raised eyebrows around Vermont because the State of Vermont is committed by legislation to follow California emissions regulations, which recently were upgraded to ban all sales of virtually all new gas or diesel powered vehicles by 2035.

In Essex, boy demands cellphones, attacks woman with baseball bat, is released with conditions

A 14-year-old Essex boy was cited and released Sunday, July 10, after Essex police say that on July 8 he threatened adults on a bike path with a baseball bat, demanding their cellphones and passcodes. He struck a woman with the bat after she didn’t immediately comply.
