Weekend saw two Vermont demonstrations in support of the ‘Freedom Convoy’ truckers

Around 25 Vermonters braved freezing cold temperatures Friday night at the five-corners intersection in Essex Junction to hold signs and flags in support of the Canadian “Freedom Convoy.” A similar demonstration took place on Saturday in South Burlington.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned U.S. law enforcement and public safety officials that a trucker convoy protest similar to the one taking place in Ottawa, Canada, could begin on American soil on Feb. 13, the day of the Super Bowl.
