The 1776 Commission reconvened Monday to voice opposition to a federal regulation pushing schools to promote critical race theory, and to call for states and localities to establish their own similar panels to promote accurate American history.

The Vermont Senate finished the 2021 legislative session Friday much the way it began, focusing on social justice themes, including one resolution condemning anti-Asian hate, and another marking the anniversary of the death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd.

Flemming: Vermont Legislature paints bleak picture with cherry-picked COVID race data

Blacks make up 1.4% of Vermonters and 0.8% of all Vermont Covid deaths (2 total). 94.2% of Vermont is white, but white Vermonters make up 96.1% of Covid deaths. Yes, black Vermonters are more likely to contract Covid, but nearly half as likely as whites to die from Covid if they do.

Critical race theory a new history curriculum or anti-American propaganda?

The vile, ahistorical teachings of critical race theory should be consigned to the ashbin of history, not taught in schools. Like other forms of Marxism, critical race theory teaches young minds to see the world as divided into two categories: oppressors and their victims.

Violent crime surged in several U.S. cities that saw massive Black Live Matter and anti-police protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death last summer. The number of murders alone increased by 36.7% in 2020 compared to 2019.

States, political parties draw battle lines over taxpayer funding of critical race theory

A group of conservatives and Republican state leaders is pushing back after the Biden administration tied federal education funding to adopting critical race theory teachings in schools’ curriculum. “Critical race theory is basically teaching people to hate our country, hate each other. It’s divisive and it’s basically an identity politics version of Marxism.”

Arkansas governor approves ending critical race theory education for state agencies

Hutchinson effectively approved SB 627 Monday, “an act to prohibit the propagation of divisive concepts” and “to review state entity training materials.” The legislation bans state agencies from teaching “divisive concepts” including anything saying that the U.S. is fundamentally sexist or racist.
