N.H. House approves Republican-favored political maps

New Hampshire’s Republican-controlled House of Representatives has approved a plan redrawing the state’s two congressional districts, brushing aside claims from Democrats that the political maps were gerrymandered. The reconfigured maps could hurt Democrat U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas.

New Hampshire leaders tout impact of tax cuts

“We cut the rooms and meals tax to its lowest level in over a decade and yet we still sent even more money back to cities and towns,” Republican Gov. Chris Sununu said in a statement. “Instead of downshifting costs, we downshifted cash, giving cities and towns extra flexibility — a win for our citizens.”

New Hampshire battling winter COVID-19 surge

“There’s no doubt we are seeing record levels of cases and hospitalizations,” Gov. Sununu told reporters during a briefing. “This winter surge that we predicted is now unfortunately rearing its ugly head, and we are definitely in the throes of it, not just in New Hampshire but all across New England.”
