New Hampshire to pull out of federal unemployment programs

Sununu said the state will end its participation in Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and other federal jobless programs on June 19, giving jobless workers a month to prepare for the changes. To entice workers back to their jobs, Sununu said the state is offering $500 to $1,000 bonuses for individuals who get a job and keep it for at least eight weeks.

New Hampshire Republicans seek ban on vaccine requirements

Lawmakers proposed an amendment that would ban on any state agency or “business getting taxpayer money” from “compelling” employees or clients to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Rep. Timothy Baxter, R-Seabrook, said passports mean people “could discriminate against flying, travel, going to a job or simply going to the supermarket.”

New Hampshire weighs protections for vaccine refusers

House Bill 220 would prevent the state from setting rules that prohibit access to schools, childcare and other congregate settings from people who haven’t been vaccinated. It also would prohibit private employers from requiring vaccinations, unless there is a “direct threat.”
