The Vermont Public Interest Research Group, Justice for All, the ACLU of Vermont, and several other lobby groups published 10 police-control recommendations in a document entitled “Re-imagining Policing in Vermont.” These merit close scrutiny.
Their policy of provocation is cold-blooded, cynical and deceptive. Get some unprepared schlub to blurt out statements on camera, convince the public that everyone who supports the police is just like this Bad Guy, and create division. It’s a ploy.
Saturday’s event was about honoring the Vermont men and women who wear the blue, who protect and serve, who keep the law and order without which families are not safe, businesses cannot thrive, and individuals cannot achieve their dreams.
We must start right now to show our support for our police officers. We should treat them with respect, teach that to our children, tell them we care about them, pray for them and back them up when and how we can.
