Shelburne fair and impartial policing team, Migrant Justice seek more sanctuary protections for illegal immigrants

Zoe Hart and Carol Bick want to change these rules to make Shelburne a safer place for immigrants. The new Shelburne policy would make it much harder for police officers to share immigration status with federal officials, allowing them to do so only under strict circumstances.

House Education Committee says noncitizen votes in Winooski will impact statewide Education Fund

A majority of lawmakers in the House Education Committee are recommending that the city of Winooski should allow noncitizens to vote — in some cases almost immediately upon arrival — in local elections, including those that affect the statewide Education Fund.

Even Biden’s media allies find it hard to ignore border crisis

It’s become so bad that Border Patrol agents are being ordered to prevent journalists from taking video and pictures of what’s happening at the border. The photos that have emerged haven’t looked good. The detention centers, or what CNN described as “jail-like facilities,” appear to be overflowing.

On his first day in the Oval Office, President Joe Biden signed a record 17 executive orders. One of the worst — and most dangerous — was his “Revision of Civil Immigration Enforcement Policies and Priorities.” A more apt title would be “Providing Sanctuary for Criminal Aliens.”

Richmond Selectboard passes resolution advancing sanctuary policies on illegals

The resolution limits cooperation between local police and federal immigration authorities. It also stipulates that police may not ask about individuals’ immigration status, closing what some saw as a loophole in statewide policy.
