Chris Bradley: Waiting periods for gun purchases will not work

A waiting period will be ineffective for the simple reason that people plan. When someone decides to hop in their car, go to a store, fake any distress, buy a firearm and then go home and kill themselves with it, that’s a plan.

New Jersey mulls raising gun permit fees from $27 to $550

A carry permit would be $400, an identification card $100, and a gun owner’s permit would be $50. Currently those fees are $20, $5 and $2, respectively, and have not been adjusted since 1966.
