Vermont spending $4 million for brownfield remediation projects

The Agency of Commerce and Community Development will use $3.97 million in funding to clean up five brownfield sites across the state, Gov. Phil Scott said, from the Brownfield Revitalization Fund to create housing.

All indications are Scott will veto S.5. The bill passed the Senate on a 19-10 vote with one supporter of the bill not voting. Scott would need 11 senators to sustain. All eyes are on Sens. Kitchel and Sears. Were they misled about what the check back was?

House passes passes S.5 by 98-46 vote — Who broke with their party?

The Vermont House of Representatives on Thursday passed S.5, the clean heat standard bill, by a vote of 98-46. Every Republican present voted no. Only seven members listened to their constituents and broke with their parties to vote “no,” six Democrats and one Progressive.
