Obama to install massive propane tanks in New England mansion

The tanks are to be used for “residential purposes,” the office told TheDCNF, and have a total capacity approved of “2,500 gallons which was broken into two 1,000 gallon tanks and one 500 gallon tank.” Select board member Arthur Smadbeck told the MV Times, “We’ve never had a private propane tank come to us.”

McClaughry: Watch out for a heating oil crunch

Sixty percent of Vermont’s homes depend on oil heat. Over the past eight months heating oil prices have marched steadily upward. At the beginning of last year’s heating season, the average retail price was $3.002/gallon. At the end of the season it had risen to $5.052/gal.

McClaughry: Is there a sea level rise problem?

It occurred to me that if people living along Lake Champlain can cope with a six foot change in the high water mark every year, and the folks on the Maine coast can deal with a six foot change in the high water mark every 12 hours, why are we worrying about a two-foot rise sea level in 80 years?
