Flemming: Climate Council finds GWSA trickier to sugarcoat, even with generous assumptions

In 2020, no one bothered to put a serious price tag on these Global Warming Solutions Act policies before they were voted upon. Part of that façade is starting to disappear in 2022, and the costs are becoming disturbingly apparent.

Tom Evslin: Zero net emissions does not require zero use of fossil fuels – continued

Each year forests and other vegetation absorb up to a third of the CO2 released from burning fossil fuels. The implications are clear: if we reduce emissions from fossil fuels by two-thirds and preserve our vegetative cover, we will be at zero net emissions. We will not be increasing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

DEC: Fuel delivery business fined $9K for tank inspection violations

In a separate incident in 2020, while inspecting an AST system in Waterbury, the company failed to affix a red tag to an AST system that did not meet the inspection standards in the AST Rules. Fuel deliveries continued.

Tom Evslin: OPEC Plus wants $100/barrel — we need it at $40

US oil production was 12,289,000 barrels/day in pre-pandemic year 2019. In 2021 our production was down to 11,188,000 barrels/day. It is no secret that Biden’s policy has been to discourage US production.

Where are the literally thousands of credentialed scientists who agree that human-caused greenhouse gas emissions must make some contribution to global temperature, but find no credible support for an approaching “climate emergency”? They don’t exist in Hayhoe’s world.

New rebate helps GMP customers save when switching away from fossil fuel for cooking

Green Mountain Power customers can save $200 when they switch from fossil fuel for cooking and install a new electric induction cooktop or range. The new induction rebate adds to GMP’s growing list of incentives to help customers save money when reducing their own carbon footprints.
