SCOTUS strikes down Maine voucher program that discriminated against religious schools

In Carson v. Makin, the court ruled 6-3 against the program which excluded students attending religious K-12 schools from taxpayer-provided tuition assistance. “Indeed, were we to accept Maine’s argument, our decision in Espinoza would be rendered essentially meaningless,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote.

Scott calls to ‘reverse the harms’ resulting from COVID lockdown measures

During his weekly press conference Tuesday, Gov. Phil Scott called on Vermonters to work to undo the harms caused by the social and economic shut down he imposed following the onset of COVID-19 in 2020.

VISA update: Governor signs universal school meals bill and mascots bill

The universal meals program was established as a pilot to provide cost and participation to the legislature so it can consider establishing a permanent program. Scott also signed S.139 which requires the Agency of Education to create a “nondiscriminatory school branding policy.”

Opinion: Children aren’t as precious as politicians (or we’d protect them with guns)

It is a simple fact of human existence: People or property that is important or cherished is protected (quite often) with firearms. When more protection is warranted, you add more security, probably armed.
