New Hampshire is the freest state in the U.S. compared to the rest of the country, while New York is the least free, according to the CATO Institute’s latest “Freedom in the 50 States” report.
As Vermont businesses are geared up to launch marketing campaigns with traditional paid ads supporting their local newspapers, radio, and television stations, they have also turned to social media tools to entice customers to buy products or visit their retail locations.

“Socialism ties with ‘the federal government’ as the lowest rated of the six terms included in the 2021 survey,” Gallup said. “In contrast, Americans are most positive toward small business and free enterprise.”

While previous efforts to attract workers to our state with incentives are a great start, they don’t do enough to break down barriers to work for those Vermonters who have already left the workforce. So, let’s give those Vermonters the tools to find meaningful work without the crushing hand of red tape getting in the way.
