Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders previewed a plan to cancel about $81 billion worth of existing medical debt in the United States.
The plan, which will be released in September, would cancel $81 billion in past-due medical debt, repeal sections of the 2005 bankruptcy reform bill and protect credit scores from being affected by medical debt, according to a press release obtained by The Hill on Saturday.
“We will eliminate medical debt in this country. Just stop and think for a second — why should people be placed in financial duress? For what crime did you commit? You had a serious illness? That is not what this country should be about,” the Vermont senator said at a South Carolina town hall Friday.
It is nothing less than barbaric that the leading cause of bankruptcy in America is medical debt.
These people didn't spend all their money on luxury items. Their crime was that they got sick.

Americans in the past year borrowed an estimated $88 billion to cover health care costs, and 76% of all Americans agree they pay too much for health care coverage in light of the quality of care they’re getting, an April Gallup-West Health survey found.
Sanders also said during the town hall that while his Medicare for All plan would mean increased taxes for the middle class, that money would be returned in the form of affordable health care for every American.
“You’re going to be paying more in taxes. But at the end of the day, you’re going to be paying less for health care than you are right now. It will be comprehensive,” he said about how people would benefit from Medicare for All if employers already pay premiums, according to Fox 6 Now.

he has Gifts abound, Free Medical, Free College, Free, Free, Free, if there’s a debt involved
Bernie will make it all disappear, just listen to his rhetoric…….. Money is no object.
For all of the minions that follow Socialist Sanders, and use to believe in Santa Claus, well

So far, he’s forgiving college loans andfree Medicare for all. Now he’s added forgiveness of all medical debt. Thus far his sceme to pay for all this is sketchy at best. He will keep offering freebies until he finds the hot button which he believes will get him the nomination and eventually the presidency. He should read the fairy tale of the Pied Piper. That might help. The man’s dilusional.

Or maybe, Sanders will sell his $70,000 Audies and two of his three houses and use his tax free foundation to pay for it
People should live their lives so they stay healthy, never need a doctor, or a hospital.
Socialist Bernie is encouraging people to do vaping, drugs, alcohol smoking, and eat junk food.
When they become sickly, they will have medical bills.
Bernie wants these people to be treated for free, i.e., paid for by those who have healthy lifestyles.
Another off the charts idea, even the Socialists in Russia did no think of.

That’s a great analogy, Willem. Bernie and the other progressive snake oil salesmen are no different from drug cartels and street-corner ‘pushers’. First they get the kids addicted. Then they control the entire community – such as it is. Just look at the homelessness, filth and disease in those Baltimore, St. Louis, Chicago, LA and San Francisco cities that have been governed by these people for decades. Even Burlington and Brattleboro have the problem.
But it’s not just these charlatans who are at fault. It’s the fools who vote for them.
