Sanders lashes out at Trump, fellow senators, millions of voters who believe election was stolen

TWO AMERICAS: Democrats and Republicans are deeply split over the legitimacy of this past presidential election.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt, joined other liberal voices over the weekend in criticizing President Donald Trump and millions of Trump voters who are questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.

“From the beginning of his campaign for president, Donald Trump has shown a profound disrespect for the institutions of democracy,” Sanders said in a statement Saturday. “It is pathetic that 13 of my colleagues in the Senate and 140 members of the House of Representatives are now demonstrating a similar disdain for the American people by engaging in a dead-end, unconstitutional effort to overturn the will of voters.”

Led by Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, at least 13 U.S. senators will object to the presidential election results when Congress convenes a joint session on Wednesday to count Electoral College votes.

Recent polls show large percentages of Americans doubt the election results and believe widespread fraud occurred. A Politico Voter Priorities Survey in late November discovered that 79 percent of Trump voters believe the election was stolen by supporters of Joe Biden. In early December, a Morning Consult tracking survey revealed that 1-in-5 voters, and nearly half of Trump voters, said it is likely that the election will still go to Trump.

In Vermont, 753 residents signed a petition this past week asking Democratic U.S. Rep. Peter Welch to investigate allegations of fraud. Welch has refused to support any such efforts.

On Twitter, other Vermonters, including 2020 Orange-1 House district candidate Rama Schneider, lashed out at Trump for a phone call leaked to the Washington Post over the weekend in which Trump urges Georgia’s secretary of state to address fraud claims.

In the one-hour phone call conducted Saturday with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his general counsel, the president outlined multiple documented examples of election fraud that add up to hundreds of thousands of votes.

“Anywhere from 250 to 300,000 ballots were dropped mysteriously into the rolls,” Trump said at the beginning of the call. “Much of that had to do with Fulton County, which hasn’t been checked. We think that if you check the signatures — a real check of the signatures going back in Fulton County — you’ll find at least a couple of hundred thousand of forged signatures of people who have been forged. And we are quite sure that’s going to happen.”

Trump then rattled off a series of large batches of allegedly fraudulent or illegal ballots that his team identified from the presidential election in Georgia.

“We had, I believe it’s about 4,502 voters who voted but who weren’t on the voter registration list — so it’s 4,502 who voted, but they weren’t on the voter registration roll, which they had to be,” he said. “You [also] had 18,325 vacant address voters. The address was vacant, and they’re not allowed to be counted. That’s 18,325.”

Trump repeatedly referenced a batch of 18,000 ballots that allegedly were processed after hours at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The event was caught on camera and seen by millions around the world through social media.

The president also expressed frustration with Raffensperger for not cooperating with his team to investigate significant alleged fraud.

“When are you going to do signature counts, when are you going to do signature verification on Fulton County, which you said you were going to do, and now all of a sudden, you’re not doing it,” he said. “When are you doing that?”

During the call, Trump argued that any large batch of the alleged fraudulent ballots, if verified by Raffensperger, would result in a Trump victory in the Peach State. The official election tally has Trump trailing Biden by only 11,779 votes in Georgia.

“So there were many infractions, and the bottom line is, many, many times the 11,779 margin that they said we lost by — we had vast, I mean the state is in turmoil over this,” he said.

On Wednesday, the president will speak to supporters in Washington, D.C., at a “Save America” rally. Millions of Trump voters are expected to attend while lawmakers on Capitol Hill participate in the congressional certification of Electoral College results.

  3. What is significant is not what Bernie Sanders says, but that other conservative Republicans Senators like James Inholfe (Okla), Tim Scott (S.C.) , John Boozman (Ark), Jerry Moran (Kan) are all planning to vote to approve the election.

    It is also significant not what Bernie Sanders says, but that all 10 living Defense Secretaries including Republicans Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, William Cohen, Chuck Hagel, and Robert Gates issued a public letter declaring , “Our elections have occurred. Recounts and audits have been conducted. Appropriate challenges have been addressed by the courts. Governors have certified the results. And the electoral college has voted. The time for questioning results is passed; the time for the formal counting of electoral college votes, as prescribed in the Constitution and statue has arrived”.

    Finally, it is also significant not what Bernie Sanders says, but that Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is firmly against a challenging the election results. As a fiscal conservative, I also have to credit McConnel for blocking the $2,000 stimulus payment pushed by Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Donald Trump. This untargeted give away can be seen as a shoddy attempt to curry favor with voters.

        All Americans are in favor of free and fair elections and despite some limited infractions, like the handful of people caught in PA. trying to vote for their dead parents, no actual massive fraud was found in the last election after recounts and court challenges. Donald Trump simply lost. Just because your in power at the time does not mean you win. Ask Mitzi Johnson.

        Rather than disenfranchise whole sections of our population as Mr. Post suggest, stepped up efforts at poll watching, which already is widespread would be a better way for those worried about election fraud to be involved.

        Another positive effort in my book would be, post pandemic, to make sure we go back to having to request an absentee ballot rather than all voters getting ballots in the mail. This makes sense economically, provide optimal security and require people who vote to make at least a minimal effort.

      What’s significant is Freitag’s continued hypocrisy. Was the disdain shown in the effort by Democrats to overturn the Trump election, beginning in 2016 with the Russia Hoax, illegal FBI FISA warrants, the Mueller Investigation, and the bogus Ukraine call impeachment a figment of our imagination?

      The Defense Secretaries are entitled to their opinions. I, for one, disagree with their assessment on several counts. But my opinion in that regard is no longer relevant. It appears as of this writing (8:30am Wednesday, 1-6-20) that the Democrats have run the table. They control the Executive Branch, both houses of Congress and, apparently, the Judiciary.

      Okay then. The ball is in the Democrat’s court. They’ve been handed an energy self-sufficient country, various treaties between Israel and several Arab nations, a North Korea that has stopped testing nuclear weapons, a foreign policy that effectively slowed Chinese economic and military aggression, a southern border that controls illegal crossings, a more efficient trade agreement with Mexico and Canada, declining U.S. CO2 emissions and, had it not been for the Wu Flu, the strongest economy and lowest unemployment we’ve seen in decades, never mind the most successful roll-out of a virus vaccine in the history of the world.

      Let’s see what they do with it.

    Pre-Meditated Fixing of the Election for Biden

    Sometime in August, Democrat operatives in NY (Schumer is from NY) likely talked to Democrat operatives in Philadelphia (Biden is from PA), regarding how to use mail-in ballots to fix the election for Biden, just in case he would be behind Trump.

    It likely was decided, PA would supply to NY:

    1) The ballots for each district,
    2) The envelopes and
    3) Copies of the registered voter lists, marked with likely voters.

    Fake ballots would be filled in for many of the remaining names.

    Organizing the Ballot Fixing

    It likely was decided, NY would have people in about 10 spread-out locations (to avoid people having contact), who would fill in the ballots (using PA voter lists), put them in envelopes, fill in the addresses, sign them, and put them in USPS-supplied trays.

    It likely was decided to have about 280,000 fake mail-in ballots, which would secure Biden’s win, so they thought.

    However, they grossly underestimated the number, because Trump was leading by about 700,000 votes at 10 PM, Election night, in PA. Shortly after 10 PM, as if someone had blown a whistle, counting more-or-less stopped in 6 swing states.

    Time to Complete the Mail-in Ballots

    If an average worker could complete one ballot, ready for mailing, in about 2 minutes, there would be 30 x 8 x 5 = 1200 ballots per week, per worker. If there were 100 such workers (ten at each location), it would take about 16 – 17 days to complete 280,000 ballots.

    The ballots likely would be stored in a secure location, ready for transport, a few weeks before Election day, to the USPS mail center in Bethpage, NY, a few miles from NYC.

    Jesse is a truck driver for a USPS subcontractor.
    He drives a USPS trailer-truck from the USPS Bethpage New York Logistics & Distribution Center, Long Island, NY, to Lancaster, PA, almost every day.

    His trailer was loaded with USPS trays with ballots, which were packed in 24 very large, cardboard containers, aka “Gaylords”.

    USPS Postal Packs are 69” high x 48” x 40”, on a plastic pallet, for sack and tray mail, capacity 2000 lb.
    The units are laid down, loaded through the top, tilted up, and placed in the trailer.

    He saw handwritten addresses in the upper-left corner of the envelopes.

    He had dispatch tickets, dated October 21 (two weeks before the election), to drive to Harrisburg, PA

    In the back (near the tractor) were the boxes to be unloaded at the USPS Center, in Lancaster, PA.
    In the front were the boxes to be unloaded at the USPS Center, in Harrisburg, PA

    He arrived at Harrisburg, but nothing was unloaded, which he thought was odd.
    He asked the Dispatcher what is going on, and asked for a standard USPS ticket to be paid for “wait-time”.
    The Dispatcher told him to wait until the Supervisor of Transportation would tell him what to do, which he thought was odd, because he had never talked to a Supervisor in the past, he had always talked to a Dispatcher.

    After a 6-hour wait, the Supervisor appeared and told him to go to Lancaster, but he refused to give Jesse the standard USPS routing ticket and standard USPS wait-time ticket Jesse had asked for.

    Jesse thought, going to Lancaster did not make any sense, because the Lancaster cargo was in the back of the trailer.

    He drove to Lancaster, parked his trailer in the usual loading dock, and drove his tractor to his nearby home.

    The next morning, October 22, he drove his tractor to the USPS center in Lancaster, to hook up his trailer, but to his surprise, the trailer was gone. He has not seen it since.

    The trailer contained up to 280,000 ballots, completely filled out, according to USPS eye witnesses.

    After all this, and the unfolding election events in November, Jesse had become suspicious of his trailer-load of ballots: “I was driving completed ballots from New York to Pennsylvania. I didn’t know, so I decided to speak up.”

    Jesse took a great risk regarding keeping his job, and his employment prospects, and his safety, and his social standing in his community. These are the same reasons thousands of USPS personnel and poll workers are not speaking up.

    I asked him to answer why he was not calling for an investigation into this fraudulent election.

    I also asked him why he is backing a corrupt man for president of the united states since all of the evidence came forward to indicate that he belonged to the Biden crime family and why he was not calling for an investigation into this.

    As you may know, the President has signed four emergency funding bills into law to respond to the pandemic. While I have supported these bills, they are by no means the bills I would have written, nor do I think they are the bills most Americans would have written. While many provisions in these funding packages have already provided relief to Vermonters and will continue to help the state and country’s economy and protect our communities, I remain concerned about the amount of funding going to prop up large corporations, with very little accountability. To my mind, we must ensure that everyone has the income, healthy food, safe shelter, child care, workplace leave, and cost-free medical testing and treatment that they need right now. The House has also passed an additional emergency funding bill, the HEROES Act, which is an important step toward meeting these goals.

    At a time when tens of millions of Americans’ economic security is being threatened, we need monthly, recurring payments of $2,000 during this crisis if we really want to make a difference in people’s lives. The Monthly Economic Crisis Support Act, which I was proud to introduce with several of my colleagues, would do just that. Additionally, my Paycheck Security Act would help affected small businesses and nonprofits by covering the wages, salaries, and health care benefits of their employees during this crisis, as well as provide funds to cover operating costs like rent, mortgages, and utilities. To my mind, this unprecedented emergency calls for more substantial action to address the needs of working people.

    During this public health crisis, we must make sure that everyone in America is able to receive all of the medical care they need, regardless of their income, immigration status or insurance coverage. My Health Care Emergency Guarantee Act would empower Medicare to cover all treatment costs for people without insurance, and all out-of-pocket costs for people with insurance for the duration of the pandemic. Further, it is critical that our health care and other essential workers on the front lines of this crisis have access to the personal protective equipment and medical supplies they need. My Emergency Medical Supplies Procurement Act would provide an additional $75 billion for the federal government to purchase much needed medical supplies as well as require the Administration to respond to state requests for urgent and critical health care supplies.

    • I don’t get form letters from Marxist politicians – or any really – bc do not care to communicate with treasonous traitors. I do not use free ad-based email which helps keep ravenous wolves away. Was able to get rid of all but one when I did – Leahy – there was no mechanism to do so which is illegal.
