House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving open the possibility of withholding articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump until she is assured a fair trial in the Senate.
“So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us,” Pelosi said Wednesday after her caucus voted to impeach the president. She was referring to what Democratic leadership plans on doing after the vote.
“But right now, the president is impeached,” Pelosi added, suggesting to reporters that she plans on holding up the impeachment process.
The House voted on two articles of impeachment — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The House voted 230-197 on the first article, with Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard voting “present” and 229-198 on the second article. No Republicans voted for the impeachment of Trump.
More than 228 Democrats voiced support for impeachment or an impeachment inquiry even as Pelosi initially pushed back against such attempts. The California Democrat has said she believes Trump is “goading” Democrats to impeach him because he thinks it will help him fire up his base.
Democrats are still sending congressional subpoenas to Trump associates as they attempt to collect documents related to the ongoing scandal regarding the president’s phone call with the president of Ukraine. The House intelligence, foreign affairs and oversight committees are all investigating Trump, his cabinet members and closest allies.
The GOP-controlled Senate will hold a trial and determine if Trump should be removed from office.
Levin: McConnell should end Pelosi’s obstruction, immediately nullify impeachment
In response, conservative radio host Mark Levin said Thursday that Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should immediately nullify impeachment.
Levin spoke out in a Thursday Facebook post after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump Wednesday night. Levin discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “brazen unconstitutional act” of “unilaterally sitting on the impeachment” and laid out a plan for McConnell to immediately nullify impeachment.
“Here’s what Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans must do in response,” Levin wrote. “The Senate has the sole power under the Constitution to adjudicate an impeachment. Therefore, Pelosi is attempting to obstruct the Senate’s power to act on its constitutional authority.”
“McConnell should immediately put an end to this and declare the impeachment null and void as the speaker has failed to complete the impeachment process by timely sending it to the Senate for adjudication,” Levin added.
The conservative radio host said that McConnell has “no less authority” to do this than Pelosi has to keep administrative notification of impeachment from the Senate.
“Her effort to cripple the presidency and blackmail the Senate must be defeated,” Levin wrote.

If Pelosi considers a ” fair trial” an affair which includes bringing in the folks Shifty Schiff could not intimidate, she’s admitting that the House’s Articles of Impeachment are sketcghy at best and she’s hopeful that Shumer and his minority gang in the Senate will strengthen her slim case. Ain’t gonna happen. As a matter of fact, one could argue that by delaying the sending the Articles to the Senate, she Hope’s to leverage the delay into involving herself in the Senate trial. Some could suggest that this smacks of extortion. Further, if Schiff and company are miffed that the President’s close advisors ignored their subpoenas, they could have taken the issue to court to have the third body of government to settle the issue. They didn’t because ” there wasn’t enough time”. Can’t help but wonder if the timing of the 2020 election factored in. Just maybe. This whole mess is a Chinese fire drill.
Pelosi needs to be impeached for REALLY Obstructing Congress, (not submitting in a timely fashion), and Abuse of Power (not allowing Rep input on charges during house inquiry).
If it is submitted it should be ended with a acquittal vote right off the bat, though I’d like to
see a long inquisition of the lairs of the house with federal charges and prison time for
shiffty and Nads and even the instigator Nasty Nan… Forfeiture of all pay and benefits mandatory on all charged..They’ve cost us now they should be made to pay for their
prank on America..

dollars they finally get there wish ” Impeachment “.on two articles that are pretty lame
and now she wants the Senate to Help,

I thought that Vermont had the only three stooges in politics, but I was wrong, I just found
three more Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler…….
If Pelosi won’t turn this impeachment over to the Senate, then it should be nullified !!
