State officials have been making the rounds this fall to celebrate a landmark achievement: After testing nearly every water tap in Vermont’s schools and child care facilities over the last five years, thousands of lead-tainted taps have been replaced or are no longer in use.
All the way back in 1787, the Framers had the foresight to give the power to write the rules of federal elections to lawmakers — not courts — and that’s driving today’s litigious left crazy.

Democrats are constantly trying to infringe on certain rights entirely, or at the very least limit the choices we have to exercise them. In the session ahead we can likely expect an attack on school choice.
The efficacy of the vaccines is poor at best. The safety records of these mRNA concoctions have been suppressed by our government officials, the drug manufacturers and the so-called media that is supposed to hold the people in charge to account. They cause much more harm than we’ve been told.
It’s politically popular to attribute all disasters to climate change. Ignoring other natural and man-made causes of catastrophe — like subsidence — makes it impossible to take effective avoidance and mitigation measures.
In the end, I firmly believe that if we pay more attention to our voting choices, Vermont will be a better place with a more perfect union.
It took years of legal fights, and a related ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, but parties in Vermont have settled two cases involving school tuition and religious discrimination.
Federal, state and local police carried out a major drug bust in Springfield last week, and a one-man, two-day crime spree spanning Vermont and New Hampshire finally came to an end on Nov. 23 in Burlington.
“The idea for this group was born out of an observation that there is not a strong state-level mechanism for parent involvement in the development of Vermont education policy,” Secretary of Education Dan French said in a release.
