Twenty-eight congressional Democrats signed a letter Wednesday condemning the Department of Education for ruling that public schools that allow biological males who identify as transgender to play girls’ sports are violating Title IX civil rights legislation.

Supreme Court justices write new law, make LGBT protections part of 1964 Civil Rights Act

Justice Brett Kavanaugh said in his dissenting opinion that “in the face of the unsuccessful legislative efforts (so far) to prohibit  sexual orientation discrimination, judges may not rewrite the law simply because of their own policy views.”
