‘Woke’ pressure ‘strengthened’ DeSantis decision to ban biological males from women’s sports, spox says

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act Tuesday, prohibiting biological males from participating in athletic teams or sports designated for female students. The governor received “very strong” corporate pressure to back off the bill, but this only “strengthened” his resolve.

Governor vetoes noncitizen voting, signs Dr. Dynasaur-like coverage for illegals

Gov. Phil Scott has vetoed two bills that would have let noncitizen residents of Montpelier and Winooski vote in local elections. However, he signed H.430, which will  create a program similar to Dr. Dynasaur so undocumented immigrant children and pregnant woman can obtain health insurance coverage.

Those voting yes believe low-income children living in rural areas do not have adequate access to medical care, dental care, housing or nutritious food. A lack of any of these can hamper a child’s capacity to learn, making it the obligation of the Legislature to provide them what civil society has not.

Texas Republicans advance plan to penalize cities that defund police

H.B. 1900 would penalize cities that defund police if they have a population of over 250,000 people by allocating the city’s sales tax money to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
