The Global Warming Solutions Act isn’t about the environment. It never was and never could be, as Vermont’s greenhouse gas contributions are a non-factor in impacting global climate trends. Or is it possible that this July Fourth we will set aside our differences and reaffirm our commitment to a red, white, and blue America?
Wallack was the chief architect and promoter of Gov. Peter Shumlin’s single-payer health care plan during the first two years of his governorship, at which point she abruptly fled the state when she saw it couldn’t be made to work.
Governor Phil Scott returned without signature and vetoed S.79, passed on June 24 during the legislative veto session, and sent the following letter to the General Assembly.
The nation’s biggest city has been cast into confusion and heated debate over whether the use of a new process that allows voters to rank their preferences for up to five candidates (used only in party primary elections) was a smart decision.
