Eric Davis: Preserving the right of self-defense

Any sort of right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness must also naturally imply the right to defend these things from violence and harm. A corollary of that right is that one must have access to the necessary tools with which to do so.

Vermont to receive $2.2B from federal infrastructure bill

The Green Mountain State is set to receive one of the highest payouts per capita in the nation at $3,600 per resident under the bill, which features $1.4 billion for highways, $225 million for bridges, $77 million for transportation, $355 million for water infrastructure projects and an additional $167 million.

As Vermont state pensions deficits grow, task force seeks solutions

The unfunded liabilities for the Vermont State Teacher’s Retirement fund increased last year by $379 million as compared to the 2019 valuation while the same liabilities increased by $225 million in the Vermont State Employees’ Retirement, according to numbers from State Treasurer Beth Pearce.

Inflation hits highest level in years as wholesale prices rise 8.6% in one year

“Democrats’ inflation crisis keeps getting worse,” said National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Berg. “If they go through with their plans to spend trillions of dollars on a reckless big government tax and spending spree, things will only get worse.”

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit temporarily halted the Biden administration’s rule requiring employers with over 100 workers to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or implement weekly testing.
