ATF, Burlington Police announce new partnership to curb gun crime

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Burlington Police Department will be working together in an effort to curb rising gun violence in the Queen City through the creation of the Chittenden County Gun Violence Task Force.

Madden: Becca Balint backs out of multiple debates in western Vermont

Becca Balint has recently backed out of two debates in the Rutland and Manchester areas. The first was a forum on energy policy in Rutland, the other a debate in Manchester. For another debate, in Bellows Falls, she declined to attend altogether.

Vermont program bringing hundreds of once vacant rentals back online

“It’s no secret that in every corner of the state, lack of housing is a major concern,” Scott said in a release. “This is impacting Vermonters already here and it’s a barrier to growing our workforce. We know there are people who are looking to work in Vermont, but they can’t find decent, affordable housing.”

In an appearance on “The Morning Drive” radio show this week, the national committeeman for the Republican Party in Vermont predicted that low-profile GOP voters in the state will be part of a larger nationwide “red wave.”

John Klar: Are electric car mandates a done deal for Vermonters?

It appears that Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) have already determined that this is a done deal and that these standards will become law in Vermont. Only 15% of Vermonters support this shift.
