Who is Outright Vermont, and what are they doing in Vermont schools

With the emergence of Outright Vermont as the newly self-proclaimed referee of what’s news and what’s not regarding trangenderism in Vermont schools, it’s worth looking at what role they play in Vermont schools and how — and how much — the organization is funded.

Joe Gervais: Democrats’ ‘America Last’ policies bringing blackouts to New England this winter

Since the 2020 election and installation of Joe Biden as president of the United States, we have seen a number of policies put in place that do not make America great — to the contrary, they destroy America.

Dr. William Spina: One doctor’s opinion on Proposal 5

This involves cutting up the baby into small pieces in order to extract it — a baby with a fully intact nervous system. In my opinion, these are hideous procedures on an infant that could survive outside the womb. How can anyone support such a thing? Vote no on Article 22.

John Klar: Back to the basics in preventing crime

The only solution to reverse course in this ideologically-addled plunge toward anarchy and mass victimization is the same as throughout all human history: restore balanced law and order, before the pendulum swings yet further into chaos.

Tom Evslin: Malthus was very wrong about overpopulation

Once we are free from panic induced by latter-day Malthusian prophets of doom (who are ignoring “the science”), we can deal with the immediate threat, Putin and his energy weapon, and the intermediate threat, too many geezers and too few workers, and plan our way to a future of abundance.

Paul Dame: VTGOP doing our part for election integrity

The VTGOP is going to take a small step to make our elections more efficient and more safe. Last week we launched a new page on our website titled “Excess Ballot Reporting.” Since we started last week we’ve been recording an average of one new excess ballot report nearly every eight hours.

Pete Gummere: Unmasking Proposal 5/Article 22

If “personal reproductive liberty” becomes a constitutional right, I suggest that could mean that laws banning prostitution become unconstitutional infringements on autonomy. That would mean that almost any town in the state could have its own “red light district.”

Letter: Article 22 was the last straw for me

I cannot stick my head in the sand and be silent about what this ambiguous and weakly worded change to our Vermont Constitution may allow. Unborn children cannot speak for themselves, therefore I want to give them a voice.

Opinion: Here’s why voter rolls are essential to victory in the election integrity fight

It is essential that states have accurate and up to date voter rolls. This includes removing individuals who moved, have died, and duplicate registrants. Many states across the country are failing to do this essential voter list maintenance that is required by federal law.

McClaughry: Working out of the housing crisis

The recent discussion of “Vermont’s housing crisis” reminds us that this problem never goes away. That’s because the interests active in shaping housing policy continue to be far apart on almost any policy change that promises more affordable housing.

Benning and Zuckerman differ on rental registries, single payer health care, gun storage policies

In the race to be Vermont’s next lieutenant governor, David Zuckerman and Joe Benning met earlier this month for another debate before voters make their choice on Nov. 8. The two candidates differed on topics ranging from housing and Act 250 to guns.

New England, a region home to six states that are deeply Democratic, may experience rolling blackouts this winter due to severe natural gas shortages, according to The Wall Street Journal.
