Minnesota city wants to delete ‘chief’ from job titles, says it’s a microaggression against American Indians

By Spencer Landis

A Minnesota city mayor is pushing city council members to delete “chief” from job titles, citing how it promotes the marginalization of American Indians.

The City Council is planning to vote Monday on whether the title of Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial officer should be changed to city administrator and finance director, respectively, according to the Star Tribune.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson said at a news conference Wednesday that such changes should occur “so that we have more inclusive leadership and less language that is rooted in hurt and offensive, intentional marginalization.”

Larson is reportedly also considering making the same change for the city’s police and fire chiefs, though there are concerns due to the widespread use of this title among public safety officials across the country. In addition, she is advocating for gender-neutral language for the position of mayor among the city’s legal foundation.

Other city leaders also weighed in. Duluth’s community relations officer told the Star Tribune that the title of chief “may put people down based off their race or culture” and that it is a “racial epithet” and “microaggression.”

Similar controversies surrounding American Indian culture have plagued the NFL and MLB for years among teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians, including renewed calls for changes amid current protests against racism.

  1. The changes and incitement of hatred and division for the next few months is going to be unprecedented, it’s all written out in the plan.

words meanings,, statues, jobs, shootings, looting will all be more controversial, they are purposely trying to bring civil unrest to new heights, to which the United nations will “have to be brought in” to calm our nation.

Yes the UN and the NWO pimps want to take over America, make us a democratic socialist nation or some other drivel. Yeah, this plandemic is all part of their plan too.

  2. You can’t make this stuff up. Talk about obserity, this goes beyond. With these kinds of folks in charge, little wonder Minnesota is in a mess.

  3. What people will do to get their fifteen seconds of fame. It’s hard to believe this idea is floated by any amount of intellectual integrity. They’ve failed to realize that Jacksonville Florida was named after Andrew Jackson, a slave owner. So were Jackson, Mississippi, Jackson, Tennessee, Jackson Township, New Jersey, Jackson Michigan, Jackson County, Missouri, Jackson County, North Carolina, Jackson County, Florida, and most blacks whose surname is Jackson. Maybe these and any others bearing the name of famous slave owner should change their names. How exciting it would be.

  4. While we’re at it, l nominate we abolish the term “master bedroom”. (I’ve just micro-agressed myself into hysteria!)

  5. Most American Indian tribes owned slaves, so they’re fair game now.

Not many years ago, some Tribes removed citizenship from ancestors of African Americans who’d been slaves – right around the point where they started building casinos.

  6. The word Chief is derived from the French word Chef

The French, led by William the Conquerer, invaded England in 1066 and won at the Battle of Hastings.

The House of Plantagenet ruled the English for 400 years using FRENCH as the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

Subsequently, the House of Tudor illegitimately usurped the English throne.
Queen Elizabeth I was the LAST Tudor
King Henry VIII, her father, was also a Tudor.

The word Chief has nothing to do with native Americans who have their own languages.
