Editor’s note: This letter is by Bruce Marshall, of Rochester, in response to a recent open letter to Education Secretary Dan French written by Sen. Dick McCormack, D-Windsor. It has been edited for brevity.
Dear Senator McCormack,
I recently read your open letter to Secretary Dan French.
As an attorney, I will note that you are playing a dangerous game, for while you state that “people have the right to not vaccinate,” you also state that anti-vaccine stance is “nonsense.”
First, Senator, the so called “vaccines” approved under President Trump’s Department of Defense DARPA “Operation Warp Speed” can not be legally called vaccines as they are an experiment. Had President Trump not qualified the program as “voluntary” then he would be eligible for crimes against humanity under the Nuremberg Code of 1946, where the opening section states:
The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, over-reaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion, and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. This latter element requires that before the acceptance of an affirmative decision by the experimental subject there should be made known to him the nature, duration, and purpose of the experiment; the method and means by which it is to be conducted; all inconveniences and hazards reasonably to be expected; and the effects upon his health or person which may possibly come from his participation in the experiment. The duty and responsibility for ascertaining the quality of the consent rests upon each individual who initiates, directs or engages in the experiment. It is a personal duty and responsibility which may not be delegated to another with impunity.
Senator, I will note that your characterizing those who question this “operation” as pushing nonsense need to stop being insulted by you, especially as there have been an unprecedented number of deaths and crippling injuries from these so called “vaccines,” which are a Pentagon experiment that is helping to make certain segments of the 1% extremely rich through this attack by the elites against freedoms to which nations, particularly the United States, were created through the loss of life, and breaking of unconscionable contracts to create, and to which you are presumably under oath to defend.
As regards you notion of the “right to bodily autonomy,” let me say that if this is what you believe, lets hope that you do not betray your belief that we have the “right to not get vaccinated,” should the graft that runs the FDA find approval of these experimental agents from Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, etc. — and especially in a market place that restricts the Russian Sputnik vaccine, based on traditional vaccine model, while we import Russian oil.
Frankly, it should be those who have refused the shot who need be protected from those who have.
A good friend of ours is a doctor, a woman, and her daughter a nurse. The daughter administered the experiment for a day and came home, having not taken the shot herself and came down with strange bruising all over her body, and strange irregular bleeding. The MD tells us she is being bribed with bonus money if she gives people the shots. I suppose this is part of the “honey” strategy that you speak of. She refuses to go along with what she is seeing is harming people, especially as there are cheap and inexpensive strategies to deal with flu that was most likely created with help from Dr. Fauci’s gain-of-function experimentation.
The “honey” of beer, lotteries and other means of persuading those pushed by the fear factories, that make people sick, is particularly sick, and sad that you are playing this game.
Frankly you have no right to belittle debate as your tone suggests, which makes it apparent that you only put in the statement that you believe in choice regarding medical experiments because, as a lawyer, you know how to cover your ass, as I am sure you understand the Nuremberg Code — thus what I am speaking about is scienter, and realize that you are playing a game.
Senator, is it not ironic that as you start to push segregation, the demographics that are most so-called vaccine hesitant are the African-American and Latino communities?
As regards the target of your diatribe is children, lets understand that children are really not at risk, but more at risk from bacteria from masks, assault on their immune system by excessive washing, and destruction of autonomy by excessive rules that all part of a mass brainwashing campaign based on fear and right out of “Animal Farm” and “1984,” which are probably banned reading material at this point in time.
Anyways I am sure that you correctly voted to ban GMOs, to which Vermont can be proud. But is it not interesting that Vermonters are becoming the first state to become GMOs?

“… as though this public health imperative [vaccination] is a mere matter of differing opinions.” Numerous doctors and scientists have questioned the wisdom of over-vaccinating our children, and the science on aluminum adjuvant demonstrates that there are biological harms that are being suppressed to keep vaccine uptake high. Doctors and scientists have different opinions on the efficacy and safety of vaccines. This is legitimate scientific debate, not ‘mere’ opinion.
” … as though factual claims derived scientifically and factual claims derived from the slums of cyberspace are of equal value.” This is just an ad hominen argument as McCormack dismisses scientific opinions that disagree with the scientific opinions he adheres to, as originating from the ‘slums.’
“We have many mandates and prohibitions.” Yes, but those mandates have not yet touched on control over our own bodies, such that the state has undue medical authority over us; the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, Article 6, states:
“Article 6 – Consent
1. Any preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic medical intervention is only to be carried out with the prior, free and informed consent of the person concerned, based on adequate information. The consent should, where appropriate, be express and may be withdrawn by the person concerned at any time and for any reason without disadvantage or prejudice.”
This article was inserted for a reason, Senator, and if you don’t know that reason then you need to review the history of the abuses of human beings in the name of science.
My comments reflect my outrage over the Senator’s continued attempt to push through totalitarian medicine.

The Senator said:

This government duty, to protect bodily autonomy, is especially pressing regarding our schools, where unvaccinated people act in a manner that threatens the health, indeed the lives, of staff, faculty, parents, visitors, and, most importantly, unvaccinated children.”
This is a twisting of the logic of liberty– that Senator McCormack believes that he has a right to uncontaminated public spaces, and that government should ensure this. No, Senator, ‘liberty’ means that we are all free to do whatever we wish provided that we don’t infringe on the liberties of others. If you wish to prevent people from entering public spaces because of race, color, creed, ideology, political belief, or vaccination status, then you are attempting to limit the rights of others. On the other hand, there is no infringing on your rights whatsoever if you’re so fearful of encountering contamination that you decide to stay home: it’s your choice. You can wear two masks, a full body suit, gloves, etc., or just stay home: your choice. You are free, and we are free.
Since when is there a constitutional right to ‘public spaces that are as free of contamination as possible’? How do you define ‘contamination’? The unvaccinated? How about someone coughing, should they be banned? If you have dirty cloths should you be banned? If people have ‘contaminated’ thoughts, as they might in totalitarian regimes, should they be banned? How about we ban white people from public spaces, as CRT might have us do?
On a philosophical level, Senator McCormack is confused. He’s also confused on a practical level since it seems that the vaccines do very little to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Some people have totalitarian mindsets; the Senator seems to be one of these.

The senator’s letter made me furious. I wish I had the vocabulary to describe my anger right now. To call call the unvaccinated, “viral vectors” or compare them to drunk drivers and persons committing criminal assault!!! What the Hell?!! Talk about yelling fire in a movie theater. By totally disregarding, or possibly just being ignorant of, the factual information we have concerning covid-19, Senator McCormack, is aiding in the creation of dangerous levels of societal divide and unwarranted fear over a virus that 99.9% of the people survive. Total idiot. Needs to shut his pie hole. Dear God when will this madness stop?

McCormack is truly a radical leftist in every way.. on every subject. He simply follows the liberal crowd like a puppy dog so he can feel like he matters. This guy truly needs to go and I plan to inform as many people as I can about his crazed beliefs. Hopefully some day soon he’ll be challenged and loose his seat.

Does this argument sound familiar? It’s the argument used against Jews, gays, and the physically and mentally impaired in Nazi Germany: we have the right not to be contaminated. It’s the argument used against those who were ideological impure in Stalinist Russia, and it’s the argument used today against the ideological impure in China and North Korea. It was the argument used during eugenics.
That this is a dangerous path to take escapes Senator McCormack completely, as he seems to be of an authoritarian or even totalitarian mindset that others should adhere to his way of thinking, or to the way of ‘science.’
Senator McCormack seems incapable of understanding that science can be, and often is, mistaken. There are numerous historical examples, such as when scientists believed that diseases were spread by miasmas, or that washing hands when going from the autopsy room to the delivery room was unnecessary. Scientists used to believe in lobotomies and shock therapy, and in sterilizing imbeciles, idiots, and morons against their will. The Nazi scientists believed that medical experiments without the consent of the victim were perfectly fine, because these were for the greater good of society. In China today, minorities can have their organs harvested– by members of the medical profession– without their consent. Today science is going out of its way to ignore safe and effective non-vaccine treatments for Covid-19 that we can speculate have saved many tens of thousands of lives, and could save many tens of thousands more.
Senator McCormack is a very confused man because he believes that he, and those whom he and others deem as ‘qualified,’ have the right to say what our greater good is, and that doctors, in particular, stand in a place of honor when it comes to determining what our greater good is, as if doctors have some magical facility that allows them to weigh all factors for society and make infallible pronouncements.
As our founding generation knew, our greater good is that we are each free to determine our own greater good, so long as this doesn’t infringe on the liberties and rights of others. You have no right to live in uncontaminated space, Mr. McCormack, any more than any one of us has any right to demand that those with whom we come into contact are perfectly free from all contagious diseases, or that they stay twenty feet away from us and wear a mask no matter if they’ve been vaccinated or not. Or, that they don’t adhere to any political system with which we disagree, or that they don’t wear shoes with which we disagree. You have no ‘right,’ Senator, to be surrounded by only a certain type of shoe.
You do have every right, however, to wear two masks, a face shield, gloves, a full-body suit, and to get vaccinated with every available vaccine. You have a right not to look at people’s shoes. You have every right not to go to restaurants or ballparks or grocery stores (they’ll do curbside delivery now!) if you feel that ‘the contaminated’ will be there. That’s your right. Use it. Stop thinking that that you have a right to control the bodies of others and to control where good and decent people can assemble; any such supposed right is a bastardization of common sense and human decency.
