On Tuesday night, members of the Colchester School Board voted 4-1 to keep the controversial Black Lives Matter flag flying at local schools. Local resident Genna Barnaby spoke against the move ahead of the meeting, reading 12 pages of objections, saying BLM flags represent support for a political organization.
“There are different cultures, of course, and we’re being told in Vermont that ours is very terrible, that it’s a white supremacist culture. Really, we’re a proud tradition of agriculture.”
“Why has President Biden not halted gain of function research, and why has he not fired Dr. Anthony Fauci for lying to Congress and avidly swearing that no U.S. money went to funding this kind of research. It’s a lie. Is there any accountability?”
“We cannot create an unsafe environment at our pool, nor can we create a situation where any of our residents feel unsafe or unwelcome at our pool,” they said. So he’s fired.
On June 16 in Rutland, Vermonters For Vermont will host a town hall discussion of critical race theory in Vermont’s public schools. A variety of speakers will lead, including John Klar and Essex-Westford School District Board member Liz Cady.

Representatives of citizen-led voter integrity groups in five states met on Zoom to discuss how they are conducting statewide election audits in their respective states. States include Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
Harri Hursti and Philip Stark, two auditors of the startling election irregularity in the town of Windham, were called upon to analyze a similar machine glitch in the state of Georgia, but which favored Republican candidates. The chances of the glitch were called “one in a million.”

Roughly 100 residents met Friday at Grange Hall in Essex Center to discuss critical race theory and the Essex-Westford School District. Liz Cady, a member of the Essex-Westford School District Board, and others spoke out against the race-based curriculum creeping into Vermont schools.
“So the question here was, would the fold through [candidate] St. Laurent’s vote target be interpreted as a mark that would generate an overvote in that contest so that none of the four would be counted. And we found rates of generating overvotes from roughly 24 percent up to 72 percent,” auditor Philip Stark said.
