US sees worst-ever contraction for second-quarter GDP

The United States gross domestic product (GDP) fell 32.9% in the second quarter of 2020, marking the largest decline the country has ever seen. The Department of Labor reported Thursday that over 1.43 million Americans filed initial claims for unemployment last week.

Poll: Skepticism amongst Americans growing over coronavirus death count

The Axios-Ipsos poll released Tuesday shows 31% of Americans believe that the number of deaths is lower than what is being reported. 58% of Republicans and 9% of Democrats believed that “the real number of deaths is less than the official count.”
