New Hampshire poised to limit nonprofit disclosures

A proposal would prevent government agencies from releasing any information that “directly or indirectly identifies a person as a member, supporter, volunteer, or donor of financial or nonfinancial support.” The legislation is now headed to Gov. Chris Sununu’s desk.

FBI: Citizens stopped six active shooters in 2021

In one incident, armed employees at the Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie, Louisiana, returned fire after an active shooter killed two people and injured two others. An armed citizen killed an active shooter in an incident outside the Three Corners Townhouses in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Court hands Exxon huge loss in climate change lawsuit

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that the state could proceed with its lawsuit against ExxonMobil and that a free speech law didn’t protect the company’s activity in question. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed the lawsuit against ExxonMobil in 2019.
