Homeland Security chief orders review of state laws allowing driver’s licenses for illegal aliens

Wolf on Tuesday ordered all of the components of DHS to conduct a department-wide review of the state laws to determine how they affect their day-to-day operations. The DHS chief’s directive indicates he is prepared to take aim against the state laws.

How 2 years of tax cuts have supported our strong economy

We don’t have to guess anymore about the effects of the tax cuts. After actually filing their taxes with the IRS, Americans saw their average effective tax rates decline by 13% (or about 1.5 percentage points). Despite claims to the contrary, every income group benefited from the tax cut.

How this bill could free workers from forced union representation

The Worker’s Choice Act would end unions’ government-granted monopoly over employee-employer negotiations, otherwise known as exclusive representation. Instead, workers would be free to negotiate directly with their employer or to choose a representative outside of the union.

Not all findings of religious freedom index are encouraging

The Religious Freedom Index is based on an online poll surveying a representative sample of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.1%. The consensus supporting religious freedom in America might be broad, but it also may not be very deep.

Blue states will turn to Supreme Court after appeals court strikes down Obamacare mandate

California and a coalition of blue states defending the Affordable Care Act (ACA) told a federal judge Friday that they will appeal a lower court order striking down the individual mandate to the Supreme Court.

FISA judge orders FBI to identify all cases involving lawyer who allegedly altered Carter Page email

The report said a now-former FBI lawyer who has been identified as Kevin Clinesmith altered an email from the bureau’s liaison to the CIA in June 2017 to say Page was “not a source” for the agency. Shortly after altering the email, the FBI and Justice Department submitted a final application to renew surveillance against Page.
