Coalition of groups in New England states form opposition to gas-powered engine bans

A coalition of New England policymakers held a virtual press conference Thursday morning to discuss how transportation policies in California are tied to 15 other states including Vermont, and will mandate that no gas-combustion engines may be sold after 2035.

Carbon ‘credit system’ instead of ‘carbon tax’ in new clean heat standard

Rep. Timothy Briglin told the House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday that the proposed “clean heat standard” would incentivize carbon-free heating systems and force fuel sellers to pay into a carbon-emissions-based credit system that proponents continue not to call a carbon tax.

Vermont dairy farmers benefit from $20 million USDA grant

The state’s Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets announced the grant, which will be paid for with American Rescue Plan Act dollars, that will augment the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center in addition to milk producers in the state.

Recently released CDC documents call Pfizer’s COVID vaccine ‘investigational’

More than 50,000 pages of vaccine safety data previously withheld from public review were ordered to be released last week by the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. At least one document refers to the Pfizer COVID vaccine as “investigational.”
