About 20 people gathered Tuesday in front of the Burlington Police Department to hold signs and share cheers with passing motorists to boost the morale of local officers besieged by anti-police trends across the country.

Guv pledges zero emissions for trucks, buses; UVM dings online students $2,600 for facilities

Gov. Phil Scott announced that Vermont has joined 15 states and the District of Columbia in signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that calls for 100% of all new medium- and heavy-duty vehicle sales to be zero emission vehicles by 2050.

“I’m very uncomfortable with printing an American flag on the ground,” Mayor Watson said. “I know it’s not a cloth flag but nonetheless with the U.S. flag code not allowing the flag to touch the ground it just really rubs me the wrong way.”

Election law glitch needs fixing, Scott says

Vermont’s new, universal vote-by-mail law contains a technical flaw “leaving the authority of the Secretary of State ambiguous as it relates to ballot returns,” Gov. Phil Scott said in a letter to the Legislature sent Thursday.
