The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) has released an updated version of the Annual Snapshot. We are unable to report many indicators of academic achievement, as the assessments on which they are based were not conducted during the 2019-20 academic year.
Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos announced the date and towns included in the post-election audit of 2020 Vermont General Election results, which will occur on Wednesday, April 28th at the Pavilion Auditorium in Montpelier, starting at 9 a.m.
The legislation would make the most substantial federal investment in higher education in the modern history of the United States and its transformative potential is on par with President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Higher Education Act of 1965.

“In conclusion, because this bill contains urgently needed funds for Vermonters, I am allowing it to become law. But the Legislature should take note that I will not support any additional, unnecessary, or unwise use of ARPA or ESSER funding.”
Based on the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and the Food & Drug Administration, Vermont has paused the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
If we had acted five years ago when the Vermont Business Roundtable and Campaign for Vermont again brought these issues forward we still probably could have avoided it. But now the deficit is twice as large as it was in 2015 and adjusting benefits for new hires isn’t enough, we need to make structural changes.
Gov. Phil Scott and his Administration presented a plan to strategically invest $1 billion in one-time federal money provided to states to jumpstart recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic and support long-term economic growth.
The Vermont Forward Plan uses vaccination rates as the key milestones for transitioning Vermont businesses to more general, universal guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19; modifying travel guidance; and when gathering size can increase between now and July 4.

Recently, my office, the Health Department and those hardworking individuals getting us vaccinated, have been subjected to vitriolic and inappropriate comments in social media and other forums regarding this decision.”
The Vermont Republican Party calls on all legislators of all parties to formally and loudly reject this proposal. At our most recent State Committee Meeting a resolution opposing this new tax was passed unanimously.
