McClaughry: ‘Check Back’ amendment the path to accountability on clean heat standard

Democrats have concocted a “Fake Check” amendment which would allow the PUC to implement a sweeping and costly Clean Heat Standard without a roll call vote of the legislators. They think they can kill the accountable Check Back legislative vote and rally all Democrats to overturn a Scott veto.

John Klar: Rage against the racist machine – Part 2

Vermont is being acculturated by acultural people. Mao’s Cultural Revolution was bent on destroying culture, not preserving it. So too is “social justice theory” focused on control and destruction, not healing or preservation.

Schiffren: As freedom wanes, the Passover story offers an important warning

For Americans who have watched the weakening of the rule of law here at home, the obligation to tell, and to hear the Passover story is a useful warning. Without our Constitution, our ways, institutions and freedom itself are at risk.

Flemming: Lackadaisical government and a contractor registry

H.157 would create a fee-based registry for Vermont’s small contractors, based on the theory that home improvement fraud is a massive problem and consumers don’t have a good way to protect themselves.

Vermont Fuel Dealers Association

Meg Hansen: Will Gov. Scott veto disastrous clean heat standard bill?

The program aims to make fossil fuels expensive and inaccessible, compelling residents to heat their homes with biofuels and wood. However, numerous studies over the last decade prove that biofuels and wood release greater greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions than fossil fuels.

Progs on meth: The growing methamphetamine crisis in Vermont

The causes of addiction are many, and it is beyond government’s ability to reshape broken humans. But Vermont’s progressive “movement” has already created a perfect environment for increased drug addiction and related crime.
