Renee Brodowski: Baby doctor Rep. Till wrong on his predictions about Article 22

Although Till claims delivering babies is the most rewarding part of his medical practice, he seems to be bent on making sure many babies are not delivered.

Opinion: The media is trying to link Hurricane Ian to global warming. Here are the facts

Roper: Gov. Scott says we can’t afford the heating fuels we’re about to tax

It’s hard for a state government to argue for taxpayer money to subsidize the high cost of something they’re simultaneously trying to price consumers out of the market.

Wendy Wilton: Pro-choice, but opposing Proposal 5/Article 22

It is perfectly legitimate, and I will argue sensible, to be pro-choice yet oppose the constitutional amendment Prop 5/Article 22 that is on the general election ballot, arriving now in our mailboxes.

Paul Dame: The four pillars of ‘Commitment to America’

John Klar: Vermont’s brave new world of prison addiction

The idea behind administering suboxone to inmates to prevent withdrawal from heroin seemed sensible, but has turned into a ghastly slippery slope in which inmates entering Vermont’s prisons system free of opioid addiction exit them addicted.

Madden: Becca Balint backs out of multiple debates in western Vermont

Becca Balint has recently backed out of two debates in the Rutland and Manchester areas. The first was a forum on energy policy in Rutland, the other a debate in Manchester. For another debate, in Bellows Falls, she declined to attend altogether.

Tom Evslin: Cold War 2.0, the environment, and the economy require passing Manchin’s permitting reform

Contrary to the radical agenda of Sen. Bernie Sanders and his allies, the common-sense permitting reforms contained in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2022 will help cut costs and accelerate the building of the critical energy infrastructure we need.

John Klar: A Vermont economic forecast for 2023

The fiscal destruction wrought on our state and its economy by progressive experimentation will not be repaired overnight, but the profligate and regressive policies of the past two decades will most assuredly come home to roost in the current national economic decline.

John Klar: Are electric car mandates a done deal for Vermonters?

It appears that Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) have already determined that this is a done deal and that these standards will become law in Vermont. Only 15% of Vermonters support this shift.
