Letter: The real ‘threat to democracy’
To me the real threat to democracy is the policies of this Democrat run administration which are destroying our economy, our culture and our sovereignty.
To me the real threat to democracy is the policies of this Democrat run administration which are destroying our economy, our culture and our sovereignty.
The most glaring failure of Vermont’s so-called Progressives is in taxation and fees: the Progressive arm of the Democrat Party has greatly burdened low-income Vermonters, always in the name of “helping the poor.”
So much for the falsely-named Democrat “Inflation Reduction Act.” September’s inflation figures came out worse than expected this week, but Americans didn’t need Washington bureaucrats to tell them they’re suffering record high price spikes.
In 2020, no one bothered to put a serious price tag on these Global Warming Solutions Act policies before they were voted upon. Part of that façade is starting to disappear in 2022, and the costs are becoming disturbingly apparent.
Shellenberger said “solar and wind produce too much energy when you don’t need them, and not enough energy when you do, and both of those impose costs on the electrical grid.”
White House officials claim the policy will affect 6,500 people with marijuana possession convictions reaching back to 1992. But even they had to admit on Friday that “no one is currently serving time in federal prison solely for the crime of simple marijuana possession.”
The “Hormone Blocker Bill,” H.659, usurps parental authority. What is driving this type of legislation, and who is driving it?
Each year forests and other vegetation absorb up to a third of the CO2 released from burning fossil fuels. The implications are clear: if we reduce emissions from fossil fuels by two-thirds and preserve our vegetative cover, we will be at zero net emissions. We will not be increasing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.
H.659 was not taken up in the Committee on Health Care. Yet the mindset is clear: many of our state legislators think they know what is best for our children and feel justified introducing and passing legislation that usurps parental authority.
Parents in Vermont will, like all informed Americans, protect their daughters. Layne Millington should resign quickly, and flee the accountability he so desperately fights to avoid.
Florida no longer recommends that men ages 18-39 get the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines because the data suggests potential cardiac complications with significant health risks.
New Hampshire receives national attention for its “first in the nation” presidential primary, but this year, it could decide control of the U.S. Senate, and the race is extremely close.
